I bought the tab 4 and very regretting it.
No firmware update, very slow and a lot of bloatware.

Don't really see the point of a new Tab 5 if the spec's for the most part, are "yesterday"? Why don't they innovate and actually IMPROVE the product or leap-frog the tech & gain a sales advantage. Samsung are not even 'me-tooing' it with Tab 5; it's "nothing" at all. Ho hum...

AnonD-295933, 19 Apr 2015i really like the change.... and the Apect Ratio is nice as... moreYou're probably trolling, but this resolution is probably I have seen in android tablet since 2012 (by then 1280 x 800 was already a standard, which is higher than 1024 x 768). I think only the original kindle fire managed to have worse resolution than this (1024 x 600), a 2011 release.

Samsung's taking us 4 years in the past, I didn't even know that such low res screens are still being produced, what's next monochrome screen with 10 lines of text? (ala the old nokia phones).

Say what you want but it is a good thing that Samsung has given everyone lots of options. I saw lots of ppl who can't afford to get a high end tabs and get these instead. If you feel this is not enough for you then get the high end ones. I myself prefer getting the TAB S or the Note 10.1. Waiting for the new Note to arive

Happy to see more 4:3 aspect ratio Android tablets! Too bad about the screen resolution though. Same as Acer Iconia a1-830 which is $100.

Still it's a beautiful piece of machinery for being (almost) 2 years old. The display is not the best and the battery suffers after the long use, but the clarity of the screen is beautiful as ever (1600p screen) and of course the wacom/stylus combo is unbeatable in these large inches ...

The Tab isn't even in the same price class as the iPad Mini or iPad, and can't be be compared to it. A better comparison is the Galaxy Tab S, which absolutely crushes the iPad Air in display quality, for example. Don't even mention the Mini 3, which already has a terrible display (still easily outdone by 2 year old tablets like the Nexus 7 or Amazon Fire HDX).

Even if someone were to buy a tablet for the price-range of the iPads, they would go with the much better Nexus 9, which actully has the freedom and features that makes tablet feel like a tablet and not a phone: support for torrent clients, widgets (which is extremely important on tablets), ROMs, possibility to play PC-games (nVidia GRID), File Manager both in the device and when connected to a PC (not being forced to iTunes like I'm a prisoner), among other things.
