Anyone who says this is bad design apparently lives in the caves! It just won one of the world's most prestigious industrial design awards!

I don't like this design either but it's my opinion. It's not a fact.

I am a gadget geek so I own almost every current cellphone out there. I enjoy most of them. As an earlier post stated there is no one perfect phone, so it's best just to select the one that will do the majority of the tasks you need. There are a lot of great phones, so you have an array of choices. Also Apps are overrated, and I agree with the other post, that most people use no more than 10-15 apps. What people don't understand is, operating systems like BB and windows 8.1, really don't need as many apps because they can load full sites like a regular computer, unlike Apples iOS. I presently own a Apple iPhone 6 Plus,Blackberry Z30, LG G3, Nokia 1520, OnePlus One, Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy 5 and just ordered the Blackberry Red Limited Edition Passport today for a whopping $150 off (found a $100 coupon code that worked and the site has reduced the phone already by $50) I have been eyeing that one for a while now and I really believe it will be a GREAT device, because I love the BB Z30 and of all the phones I use, that one Is my second choice after my LG G3, that I pick up the most. So I'm truly excited to add the BB Passport to my collection. I think I qualify to speak on this, since I have true experience with many different cellphones. No matter what people say, Blackberry make great phones and able to compete with the best of them.

All Play Store apps are not supported (especially, Google Drive, Gmail App), many impediments with respect to Software Updates. I liked its physical characteristics, display, keyboard etc....but its app eco system is not on par with Android or iOS. Side loaded (Snap) Android apps have their own problems.

I agree that BB PP served its purpose with strong security, BB Hub was really great....but beyond that it is not useful for common person. Their app portfolio is really small.

S5 sold almost 60% below target but more than Blackberry , still S5 is called a failure. Comparison doesn't matter if we reach our goal. Even everyone compare themselves to the No.1 then everyone is a loser. Blackberry is achieving its target and soon it will grow too.

Both my BlackBerry q10 and Passport are running the latest update (10.3.1) and they both have the google play store on it. I have whatsapp and we chat installed. They both work fine (i'm using the BlackBerry world versions but I could use the android versions if I wish also)

There is no longer an app gap on BlackBerry 10 devices.

The o.s is miles ahead of the competition when it comes to multitasking, typing, emailing, messaging and making phone calls. Heck I don’t even need to open text messaging or instant messaging apps to respond to someone anymore. BlackBerry 10.3.1 is freaky fast.

Obviously this article is an attempt to put down BlackBerry as 'Just over a month after brokerage firm Morgan Stanley said that the BlackBerry Passport and Classic aren't selling well,' turned out to be wrong as shown by the last quarter results . Yes not as much as iphone etc but numbers are about to improve with more carriers onboard.

One thing I certainly agree with are the comments about the poor sales of the Blackberry devices. The QWERTY keyboard and odd size of the Passport is not going to appeal to mainstream smartphone users and is not enough to turn the company around.

Why? Because Blackberry owned the QWERTY space and several manufacturers came out with QWERTY phones in response. QWERTY faded away because the mainstream consumer moved away from QWERTY to touch screen devices.

Now, Blackberry (or more appropriately, John Chen, Blackberry CEO) is pushing another QWERTY phone:

                                  http://www.tech-boom.com/blackberry-oslo-passport-soon-recycled-midrange/

Meanwhile, Blackberry is losing customers, those who own Z10's and Z30's, to other manufacturers because Chen is too inflexible (read egotistic) to have the company build a true flagship successor with some of the new technology available (example: the cameras on the Z10/Z30 could benefit - OIS, higher resolution and more advanced sensor).

John Chen needs to give his ego a rest and give the non-QWERTY crowd a phone with first rate specs which justifies a premium price before he drives the company out of the handset business.

My personal experience is on a Z10 and currently a Z30. Skype, Line, Whatsapp...all work fine on BoS 10.3

The only problem I ever had in the past was with the one of the versions of Line (4.7 I believe) where the backspace and auto-correction wouldn't work correctly.

                                        I think you're just trolling...prove me wrong.
