The Z5 and Z5 compact has to have small bezels, 2K screen, IR blaster, fingerprint scanner and more new features that make a bold statement. I have a stange feeling that Sony Z4 was gonna be the global flaship but then Sony saw that Samsung and LG flagships were just too good then decided to make a better phone.

Why is Sony still making the camera 20.7 MP with an aperture f1/2.3? That is why Sony is failing in the camera department, it should be like LG G4, galaxy s6 or at least a wide aperture f1/2.0.

I think they're probably going to release the next 007 Bond Phone. I remember the Xperia T as the phone in Skyfall so Sony might feature their next phone in Spectre.
Also some "leaked pics" from https://twitter.com/xperialeak/media scroll down to April 17 looks like a new design with fingerprint scanner and flash around camera maybe.

Finally got to read the whole press release translated into English and it staes clearly this device is aimed at the domestic market only. It also states. 'This product is a product aimed at completing the form of the Xperia Z series'. Now if the translation is accurate this would suggest to me that this device will be the final one released in the Z series and Sony have no intention of releasing it outside Japan. So Sony are either selling off their mobile operation or they intend to launch a brand new series of phones later in the year.

I hope that MS Lumia flagship is the flagship of the year.
I'm not expecting incredible phone, but I hope that I'll b a bit surprise when it announce, yeah

this z4 is the stopgap for some months in japan before a radical new xperia line starts in a few months..

ugly design as usual from sony.
easy to drop due to very slippery glass on the back and no curved to grip good in palm. ericsson was way better in design.

Sony have got out of the TV market because this is not where the future is, Short throw projectors are the future. These give the very real capacity of true 3D and during this 2D transition they give a much greater quality then standard LED/LCD tech.
Music playing, what more do you need then a "walkman" type app on your phone. The Ipod was a stepping stone that fools got into when the phone already could do the same and more. again a perfect example where marketing and fools with more money than sense bought into a tech with a very limited life span, until apple could sell them the next fad. I agree with the Beats point, but this again is just a fad which is more about style and look than substance. in 2-5 years this will become a thing of the past. Real companies that want to exist for the long game plan 5-10-20 years in advance. The Viao sale did surprise me as the top end laptops they did could not be touched but again I suspect that this median is also dead shortly, what will replace it is unknown to me, maybe the tablet route but Sony would not have dumped it if it had a real long term future. All large companies have to shed the dead weight and reinvent them selves every now and again. This is what Sony are doing. They will stay in the Smartphone market for some time to come, as it plays into the total home entertainment solutions of the foreseeable future.
Please all enjoy your fads and waists of Money as this keeps many employed. High quality users with true taste and style will always shine through with classic Sony style and grace.

I think they are going to hit the market with a phablet to compete with the likes of 6+ and note 4. Sony I hope you won't disappoint me
