Anonymous, 29 Apr 2015Who cares???? It is about making good products and money... moreThe other divisions of Samsung care, since Samsung mobile orders parts from its sister divisions.

The more smartphones Samsung sells, the greater the other Samsung divisions can benefit from economies of scale to lower production costs and increase profitability.
If you read the report, all the other divisions of Samsung are making significant YoY profit increases due to the high sales volumes of Samsung Mobile and their other customers.

Also, I don't see why you should care about a company's profitability unless you're a shareholder.

Great job. Truthfully, Samsung never really lost the crown. Being outsold one quarter of 2014 doesn't remove the fact that Samsung dominated the entire year.

Samsung offers smartphones to cover all types of customers. Everyone doesn't care about high-end, metal devices. Some individuals just want a mid-range, functional device that fits their needs. Samsung gives them that.
