Samsung acknowledges Galaxy S5 Lollipop update issues

Phone (S6) locked out for 3 hours immediately after update and for some reason then fired up with different app images on the screen. The apps then locked so was unable to use them or the phone. Tried factory reset - nothing happened so pulled the battery to unlock. Turned back on - battery charge at 86% and showed the battery on the screen but still would not turn on. What next?
Comment - I wish we had a choice whether to upgrade or not

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2016Updated my S5 this morning and it activated a new security ... moreYeah factory reset your phone and get it rooted . this update is a joke done the same on my edge . took my finger print away told me to enter my password which I never set up . phoned 3 they told me to phone Samsung . phoned Samsung spent 3hrs on the phone then line went dead. phone back following day at 4pm 2 and a half hours later the lines closed still no answer . sent them a email 4 days later got a reply told me not my network provider can assist me . told them they said to come to you to be told I need proof of purchase of 3 to prove the phone is mine . went to 3 to find out about proof of purchase to be told I can get it but it will take between 3 and 6 weeks to get as it's in archive. spent a further 2 hours on the phone to Samsung to explain to them that I need my phone for work and this is unacceptable for them to tell me that of course new updates have their problems and I need to wait like everyone else and wait for the update that fixes the bugs and install that. I told them that I won't be able to install it as my phone is locked and won't boot up. and their answer was well you will have to wait until you can provide the relevant documents to show it is my phone .
this update has been a cock up since the word go. I had no issues before the update and I don't see why I was forced to update my phone.
so I recommend you root your phone take the update off and download a new one or roll it back . plenty of places show you how to do it if in doubt find someone who knows what their doing .

I had an issue with not being able to access my files after the update. I contacted Samsung tech support via Chat and he had me load a share program to access my phone and check the update. I turns out that the default after update on USB selects charging and you manually update it to File transfer. Swipe top of screen down and then select USB charging middle that shows active. I also notice fast battery drain, camera and picture files seem a little out of order and it scrambled some of my contacts ringtones and contact pictures.... ugg

It's been about a week since the update, my phone is losing battery faster and faster. It takes forever for text to show up. When it does, it doubles words with no spaces at warp speed. I cracked my screen because I was so frustrated with this. You have cause alot of damage to a utility that everyone uses for businesses and organization. You should feel terrible that this was even an option for release to your customers. If this isn't fixed ASAP, there will be no choice but to boycott all future devices including home theater and appliances.
I will be contacting you in more ways, seems this is a brick wall and these comments will never reach your terrible development department.

Same issue. Sd card keeps coming up and I have problems with the screen and have lost saved data.
Have samsung issued anything about this?

Since the update, the battery goes from 100% charge to 0% and shuts off in about 4 or 5 hours, even when I'm not using it! 64G SD Card is now "corrupted." Is it "Lollipop" because everyone who updates is a sucker?

I got issue with my Mic since new update, everytime I use my camera /switch back and front camera while video call on Facebook I lose my Mic. I have to restart my phone to get it going back to normal and it will repeat itself again if I use my camera, this impact my Mic even when call anyone from contact list. basically my Mic gets disabiled once I use my camera whether it's video call, photo or recording. any help is appreciated. thanx

OK Samsung you have a matter of days to fix this ridiculous update. Reeks of complete incompetence pushing out an upgrade with so much issues. Its convincing me to go back to iphone. Well cheesed off.

Wish I didn't get this update, I now can't even view photos because it's 'low on storage space' ... Really Samsung...fix this soon, it's ridiculous.

Last update worse ever phone freezes can't close apps battery life reduced keeps closing down and removing my music app please sort this out love samsung but makes me want to change

I thought it was just me with problems. Now I know better. I have a galaxy s5 and can no longer access any downloads in the my fIle app when I download music. I had Verizon send me a new phone but it looks like it was the latest update.

I have lost the peeking option on my notifications. All that shows up in my notification bar now is the app icon. While I'm in other apps and I receive a text message or email I can no longer see a preview of who it's from or part of the message. I have to get out of my screen and go into the app to see or pull down my notification bar to see. This is annoying!

Battery only last 4 hours at the most. Also drops calls after about 5 minutes consistantly. Phone just says "no signal" even if I have bars.
