Samsung seems to be using its own ISOCELL sensors in some of the units.

As long as I have Samsung's ISOCELL tech, I wouldn't care.

But if I don't have it, at least in this case, it fortunately seems Sony's sensor is almost on par, so the difference will probably be not that noticeable. Normally ISOCELL would be noticeably better.

Eddie, 04 May 2015Guys. It is not about if they mention on the advertisement ... moreThis indeed.

Send the product with superior parts to reviewers, get excellent reviews. People start thinking that Samsung has the best camera on their newest flagship and buy this flagship as such, which may well have an inferior part inside. Still they will boast about how they have the best camera inside a phone and worse, some of them will remain focal about their great phone when other companies actually offer better end user products.

It remains strange, how many people seemingly do not care that they get screwed over by a company and even like to defend said company.

AnonD-392180, 04 May 2015And where did they advertise any specific brand of sensor?Guys. It is not about if they mention on the advertisement what sensor it is or what. It's how they market the product. It is like they intentionally sent review units with superior sensor and make it appear like all unit will be like that but it is not. That is already a fact as review sites and tear downs confirm that they S6 has Sony sensor. If ISOCELL is equally good as the Sony sensor then why not send mixed units to reviewers so we will have some idea what to expect. My S2 before have Samsung sensor and it sucks big time.

Not many people will be aware of this. A lot will be deceived especially those who saw review sites and even those who watched YouTube videos talking about how great the camera is however not all unit were made the same.

TechExpert, 04 May 2015The iPhone 6 uses sensors from LG Innotek and Sony. If you have seen the film called The Mummy, when the mummies were chasing the heroes, if you turn up the volume, you'll hear them all calling innoteck inoteck inoteck, surely that should count for something, apple could escape any public upheaval by citing this to the faithful , if I'm not wrong.

No information can be obtained until you purchase the unit and verify it trough software. I have an S2 and it had same problem. I got the sucky Samsung sensor instead of the Sony and that is my biggest regret. The worst part with the S2 is the big difference on the picture quality. See the link below:
