Samsung Galaxy S6 is receiving a new firmware update

Galaxy s5, got marshmallow update, worked ok for a day. Then BAM locked up on open screen with keyboard blocking so couldn't turn off, restart, nothing. Went to Samsung website, followed directions for restart and BAM again, formatted my hard drive and external mem card, Lost EVERYTHING! MY ONLINE BUSINESSES run thru this phone. Wthell!!

I have Sprint. I updated my phone a few weeks ago. After the update I noticed some new features that were nice, was annoyed that it forgot so much of what it learned from how I swipe, and started noticing battery drain very quickly. Each day it got worse, until it started powering down at 50-70% and working only after a using the power button/volume down combination. I took it to a Sprint store any they said there was nothing they could do. The tech mentioned that Samsung released this update and won't acknowledge the issue until after they release a patch to try and correct it. Store employees have no fix and are not authorized to do anything except sell me a new phone with no benefit from my repair plan I pay monthly for. He did say I could go to Best Buy and to the "Samsung Experience" to roll back the firmware and hope it helps. And that some of these kiosks can do this. It sounded like I would be lucky to get any results and have not tried this. Either way I find it ridiculous and will not be buying a Samsung phone again. At this point I am lucky if it powers up at all. It has become very picky on what charger will even work and only will boot up while plugged in. >:-(

My battery does not even last till 10 in the morning... i have to charge it 3 times a day. It gets stuck and started to hang every now and again. It also gets very hot.

After the recent update, my phone keeps on auto-refreshing especially when browsing. At first, I thought I am accidentally clicking on the screen or something. But when I monitored it laid flat on the table, it refreshes the page on its own. Plus the battery drains soooo fast. :(

Completed latest update, phone is currently sat on my desk not being used and the batter which was at 100% as of 8.30 this morning is now at 41%. Cheesed off the say the least. Anyone else had this problem?

Absolutely shit update.
I had my last update fine with nkt a problem, got the new one and it's been nkthing but slow and glitches out in messages and comes up with 'unfortunately messages has stopped' never since i got this phone it has done this until the update.

I began receiving the update request yesterday and it is a nuisance! Have searched for a way of permanently disabling this and as yet have not found out how to.
My S6 does everything I require it to do and I do not update things for the sake of it!
Advice to developers - when releasing updates give an accompanying description of what they are for plus the option to disable them. End users can then make the choice if they wish to accept.

My phone is just over a year old and installed latest update. My phone is faster and running smooth again. Still learning the new features and small interface changes, but happy.
What i learned is not to intall new large updates, but to give it a week or so before i download and install. This gives some time for corrections.

Starting yesterday, my phone wouldn't charge. The next thing I know it had updated plus rebooted. It deleted all my photos, music, text messages, call history. I Had to sign back in to every app. I'm going crazy!!!!

I absolutely gutted with the Samsung s6 the update has been going on since 10am this morning I cant use ma phone at all absolute disgrace!! the android has been starting up for the past 5 hours and still no progress avoid this phone like the plague!!!!

Takes a smart phone company to take away hands free option..no speak to text option and cant connect to wifi..keyboard doesnt respond very well and calibration is off..way to go samsung..your suppose to make life easier with updates no more difficult..wonder if factory reset will remove update..willing to try anything at this point

I had baught the s6 and 17 days later (almost immediately after the update) my phone started overheating bad. I had no service here and there. 'H+' as my signal strength. Went and replaced the phone and have not even wanted to update. Id rather look at the annoying icon on my status bar, then EVER EVER EVER EVER "update" i do believe they want to sabotage the phones we have so we are forced to buy "newer" "fancier" models.
I USE TO LOVE YOU SAMSUNG...WHY?😣

I am totally disgusted with the new the latest update to this phone. No longer can I use my speaker to send text messages, because this latest update removed the icon. Really! It takes me more time to type out a message. This is ridiculous! Also, I keep getting this error message about not being connected to the Internet. These were never issues before this rogue update. I wish there was a way to remove it. My phone was okay before I was forced to accept this latest update. Please fix these problems. Consequently, this is the LAST time that I will buy a Samsung phone.

I cannot believe how bad the latest update is! Where is the option to edit a scheduled text message?
Where is the option to add a contact to the auto reject list? Surely these haven't been eliminated???
And why, when i unlock my screen, does it default to the number dialing keypad EVERY SINGLE TIME?!!
The screen seems to be constantly locking itself and apps continually crashing.
This is a joke- how can it be an update when it's created more glitches than ever.
I only installed this supposed software "upgrade" yesterday and i already hate what it's done to my phone and i've barely explored it yet.
C'mon Samsung, lift your game,it's a disgrace!
How can i uninstall this "downgrade"? Anyone...?

I have no idea if i have ... moreI wonder if it can be legal for a company to sell a phone which is up to my speak and works well and then fore updates on it that completely ruin the running of it. Disable favourite feathers. Hinder WiFi connection and make the phone a product that I would never have bought. It is like breaking in and destroying something. I will never by Samsung again.

Is there a way to avoid this update? My phone has been awful since day 1 and I have only had it for a few months. I cannot afford to lose anything else with these software updates
