Welcome to the land of "Black Bars!!"
As a consumer, I just gave Samsung this feedback concerning their Tab A.. but it very much applies to to that Tab S2.
I'm all for a better build quality and 64 bit chipset but a 4x3 ratio with sub HD is so NOT Samsung!!
As a family we own two Tab 4s, two Note 4s, a 7000 series HDTV, HT6730 surround sound and a refrigerator, we pride ourselves in all things Samsung and look forward our new purchases. But there is a reason why screens are no longer 4x3 ratio!
Who, today in this age, would buy a TV, a monitor, or a laptop in 4x3 ratio. In 1993 it was a great spec to have a 4x3 ratio 1024 x 768 resolution monitor, but you realize today that this is not even HD!! Our Tab 4s from last year are even higher than HD at 1280 x 800 a very happy medium at a 16x10 ratio. The standard for all TV sets for media is 16x9. Laptops have jumped to 16x10 and stuck at 16x9.
The reason 4x3 is a big mistake is that it is HORRIBLE for media!! No one today would by a TV or laptop etc in 4x3 because of this!! In this media age, how disappointing! Have we drunk the apple kool-aid so much to believe anything like this is a step forward!! They've told us retina ( orig sub HD) is all we can visably see. Told us facetime is a thing.. It's called video chat and has been around a long time! And now 4x3 is better for Web and such!? If that were true, than their other devices would be at that ratio.
It's so not true like the other examples and just the kool-aid or marketing hype. Now all media will have large black bars and no longer utilizing the great screens that Samsung is so known for! Wake up Samsung!
Now build quality and advanced chipset is the thing!! BUT, stepping backwards in screen size, resolution and to a 4x3 "black barred" screen is a big miss-step!! You too have great marketing and just need two focus on what your stengths are.. great screens, new 14nm chipsets, great build quality, and finally great marketing.

The latest read/write speeds of around 80mbps is fine, since 4k recording is still pointless for the majority. I'd like the latest fastest internal memory too. Is it hard for Samsung to have both specs?

All I've been waiting for an android. 4:3 is perfect for reading...esp. PDF files. Screen size is very important for reading... watching movies..anyway there are movie houses

I have the Tab s 10.5 and I love it
I really don't care if it's made out of plastic.
l wouldn't bought it if it wasn't wide screen.

perfect ratio is 1.41:1, as a a4 paper. would this be possible?
problem of 1.6:1 screen is, when use in landscape mode, it is too wide for a on screen keyboard, too short for content display.
apple knew this since 1st gen of ipad.

4:3 aspect ratio is so silly. It's bad for media consumption and it's not that good for reading either (3:2 is closer to books' ratio, i.e 1.42:1 ).
Bad Samsung, copying apple on their worse ideas. Suddenly Tab S (1) seems like the perfect tablet.

There you go samsung, youve had samsung pay, this tablet, galaxy S6, the SVoice, next please make sPod, Stunes, buy tidal to compete with Apple's beats, and also Samsung TV Set top streaming box. LOL

4:3 ratio really a turn off to me. I hope Samsung will release a 16:10 ratio in order to get my money. The same ratio like iPad Air, Apple will get my money.

If the specs and features of this one is only slightly before than last year, then it's a very good opportunity for people to buy last year's tablet for less.
