The Mate 7 was ridiculously expensive in my opinion for a low profile brand. If the successor is just as pricey, I won't be considering it.

Garena, yes huawei stated no QHD screens BUT for P series... NOT mate series where battery is large hold enough juice even for QHDs ..
And there will be DEFO ''ROG'' power save where user will be able to change resol from QHD to FHD and even to HD ...

I think that battery life will be just fine. Certainly better than the current QHD crowd with 40% less battery capacity.

huawei mate 8 phablet is aimed at younger generations - soon all networks shall have to offer internet calls - like whatsapp -skype -google -- with in 2yrs - cellular/mobile communications shall change dramatically --japan already has true LTE speeds of 200 + -while usa western europe stil struggling with 20 false LTE ..DOMESTIC landlines new numbers connections have dropped dramatically usa western europe -- here we go- went from nondigital to digital to LTE -FALSE - to phablets with true cat 6 LTE -welcome huawei mate 8 - but not for a gentleman jacket pockets though ..
