abba, 03 Jun 2015If youve never missed any of the s and note series why woul... morei arranged my contract almost at the same date of the S available, and the contract of my wife at the same date of the Note available, and since i can get those phone for 99 Euro with my contract so it is easy, whereas when i do renew the contract a year later i pay extra 100 euro, so you can say i can have the S for 199 Euro and the Note for 249 Euro....and at the end of discussion i did not mention anything about money!!!! i mentioned the non sd card slot and the non removable battery which i need specially the removable battery....i do root all my phones and sometimes i do change custom ROMS twice a day....so when the phone just freeze its so hard to reboot it with non removable battery (coz i am suffering that with my Tab S) so sometimes it is really needed to pull out the battery to boot the phone again ;) get it now ??

Thick skin of this S6 Active makes me wonder the dimensions are identical to the original S6.

Hoping the battery power is not correct and bigger. Thinking of Z3 or Z3+ for excellent battery capacity.

Count me out if its the same battery as the s6. Still on an S4, and been holding out for this phone since the rumors started... I'll now be looking closer at the M9 and Z3+ which is due out soon (which would mean leaving AT&T)... oh shucks...

Just goes to show the golden egg isn't always the prettiest. Granted the S6 Active looks damn sexy with that bluish night camo, but this is why you should wait before buying an S6 Edge or any premium handset.

There's still hope. Why would there be the same size and weight if the active is encompassing a sturdy case-like shell. I believe these specs are simply just a filler, but alas, only time will tell.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2015I don't understand why Samsung REFUSES to use software butt... moreHardware buttons are significantly better. They can offer overrides when software locks up, you can feel them when your screen is overwhelmed by the sun outdoors, and they're more satisfying to press.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2015I don't understand why Samsung REFUSES to use software butt... moreSo how many phones have you seen that wouldnt physical fit hardware keys?
They still need to put some electronics below the display. Mic. USB-port. Speaker....
So why would you ever prefer not to have physical buttons, when there is room for it?

Disappointed, 03 Jun 2015Would jump on it if it had the bigger battery. Now not so ... moreThere will surely be some extended battery cases like the ones that exist for the galaxy s5 active. That will fix the smaller battery issue.

AnonD-402600, 03 Jun 2015So given the chance to step away and make the device slight... moreI didn't think for one minute that Samsung would give the S6 Active model a removable battery or micro SD card slot since it would totally take away from the new "ideas" they are trying to push with the S6 and S6 Edge.

The Active models aren't huge sellers for Samsung in the first place plus they would get hammered my the media and customers for adding these features in this model and not the S6 or S6 Edge. At the end of the day the best option would be to get a battery pack like the ones from Mophie or another company and calling it a day. This phone is made to be rugged and maybe water/dust proof and nothing more.

The specs are not correct. The specs presented on the website were just copied from the s6 when they created the page for the active model, and they were/are going to edit in the correct specs in post.
(For example, I don't think the active model has the EXACT SAME dimensions as the regular S6.)

Sammy just crapped and shirted all over you guys. you're better off with the s5 active or the s5LTE-A version sorry. Its a great phone if you're not glued to it 24/7. but then whats the point of the ruggedness if it never comes out of the bag or pocket?

It just cant have the same weight, as the S6, I believe they completed the rest of the unknown specs with the S6's and the actual ones will be different, this is particularly important on the battery department. Great autonomy is a make or break for such a mobile, fast charging wont do much in wild life.

So given the chance to step away and make the device slightly larger and maybe provide removable storage ... they give it the feature they took away from the S5 .... waterproof maybe MIL standard .... If this is the case ... very large disappointment ... Given android's and phone manufacturer;s skins that like to "drip" mAh consistently away from the device ... sealed battery shouldn't be below 3,000 mAh ... this will at least give 5-6 hours of non-stop running instead of the 4-5 hours they dream of ... Major Bummer .... look like I will be skipping the "6" line and stick with the dual device of the Note 4 and Droid Turbo ....
