Motorola hasn't been known for producing phones with stellar cameras (e.g. competing with the likes of the iPhone, Galaxy, or G-series); here's hoping that third time's a charm! Can't do worse than HTC with the M9, though....

I hope they stick to the 1080P for the 5.2 inch model, and keep the overall size of the device more compact. I believe one of the reasons Iphone 6 has done very well is because it weights relatively less than the competition, even if the screen size is a bit lower and resolution is not the highest.
Go FHD for 5.2 inch model, may be QHD for 5.7 inch model.
Improve the camera a lot, improve the battery life from Moto 2nd gen X (15-20% is enough), and reduce the weight 10-15 grams (from 144g to 130-135g).

Do... moreScreen size isn't the problem, the res is...User ROI in terms of compromised batt life and GPU work are just borderline acceptable. His point was if it's good enough PPI count for his way bigger 6.4" ZU then surely going with just FHD max isn't gonna be bad for any other 5.2" phones.
This 2K craze isn't scaling up well with what SoC makers can really catch up with efficiencies.

I hope they keep the current physical design, which is the best design currently on the market. If it has OIS and dual front speakers, then it really will be pretty nice. And they better keep the four microphone noise cancellation.
The 810 is a bit of a disappointment since it underperforms the 805 and 801, as ArsTechnica showed a couple months ago. Why not just save some money if there's nothing to be gained? Also the 810 will be a bit old by the time the Moto X comes out. Motorola seems to always be almost a year behind on procesors. The 820 is what really should be in the next set of flagships.

My perfect dream smartphone well except the Snapdragon 810, the Moto X (2015) is just another hot plate. Anyway someone should make this exact smartphone and put the Intel Atom X7 2.3GHz 64bit quad core SoC in it. Then even if it's $800 you got my money.

Don't try to label a product a fail when you are the consumer in another niche market. Also, please stop running around the site whilst screaming how 'majestic' your Z Ultra is and how every smartphone should follow its screen size. Thank you.

Sounds Great, but what about SD Card option?? and no need for 32gb if there is no SD card , at least go for 64gb to start with and also add FM radio, OIS is must which is a big lack in Moto phones and stereo speakers up front...
This would make this an ultimate deal..

Oh I love this 5.2" with QHD res, what a joke! I have a 6.44" Sony Z Ultra with a 1080p res and it's fantastic, this moto X is going to be a fail, too small and too high resolution, good luck to you all, you'll need it!

God people, stop ruining the smartphone market by asking for idiotically huge 6'' and 7'' phones. Stop poisoning the market with your trite.
5.6'' is a liberation.

3200mA battery, that will make the device heftier unfortunately, not a good decision to go QHD in my opinion. They should have stick with FHD, for better ergonomics and performance in my opinion.

If they decided to use the 810 crap I hope they'll configure it properly.
