John, 14 Nov 2009I dont know anyone that uses a winmo os phone in Australia.... moreu must be kidding me i work in optus,virgin and three mobile in australia i know how popular winmo was when they released omnia, and i have had a lot off ppl coming to me asking fro htc mobiles they are all win mo bro....

This is a non-denial denial. There is nothing in that statement that condtradicts Samsung dumping Symbian in 2010 and pushing Windows Mobile down from 90 percent to 20 percent 2012.

I'm glad that this is just a rumour. Samsung would be unwise to try and change a multi-OS approach purely because different OS are popular in different countries. I know that in the UK, Android and Symbian are probably the most popular OS and WinMo is not that popular. hop the pond into the US and you'll be smacked round the face by a huge mob of WinMo support. Different places have different tastes, and narrowing down into one OS is not a wise move because of that.

What a relief! I'm glad Samsung realise the value of supporting multiple OS'. It's good to know that while that are (quite rightly) exploring their own OS solution, they still value the customer base they have with existing OS loyalties.

It seems like an act of conspiracy by HMC Investment Securities to mar the sales of Omnia which run on Symbian (omnia HD) and winmo. This is irresponsible behavior by HMC. Although it's good to see that Samsung soon contradicted such issue or else it could have surely hit the sales of Omnia... especially HD which runs on symbian although we know that even if it was to be true regarding samsung stopping the symbian platform in upcoming devices which samsung has said is untrue, still there are lot of applications for symbian phones which will keep the symbian platform alive for years to come. But responsible media is one thing which is hard to find these days.

apple, palm, blackberry has done it why cant they.
competition is always good, imagine how far back we'd be if there was only windows available.
as far as current OS's goes, symbian is slow and buggy, windows too but is improving, blackberry is simple and boring, i hate to admit it but apple has the throne for now. but if you look at what samsung and htc has done on top of windows and symbian, they know what they'r doin.

As already mentioned before, Samsung must keep using Symbian and WinMo OSs while BADA penetrates in the market, after that maybe they'll start adding just BADA in all of their phones.
Still thinking that this is a smart move from Samsung.

the segment of strong conservativ os's is going to be like now or less number of devices but open source systems like android and bad should be leading the number of devices . Still waiting on eclair phone from samsung

They make their own OS to strengthen they position in they own line. By supporting Symbian, WinMO, Android they strengthens they positions in other market segments. If you can sell your own OS, it's good. But if you can sell more phones, with resources by other manufacturers, you are winner. It's just a plus.

but they can reduce there phones that come with symbian.

I dont think this sucks, the reason they have come up
with this is to show their identity in the field of
Mobile OS on the other side i wouldn't be surprised if
they ditch symbian,winmo,android loaded in their devices
Somebody was commenting that "dont flood the market" i
think he/she is a fanboy main thing in any field is
competition if you are confused that in which OS ur
device running then you are not matured enough to use a
smartphone
Now its the time for LG, Motorola to come up with their
OS i am certain that it would not be far long

In the near future Samsung will have Bada for their smart phones and Touchwise for their standard phones, as Nokia has S40 and S60.
Of course they cannot say they will drop Symbian and Winmo, because they still have plenty of them to sell.

WinMo, Android, Symbian, LiMo, Touch Wiz and their basic OS. It’s just what Samsung need another OS to confuse not only their customers but their support staff.
Stop flooding the market and just make a handset that works.

I didn't say i thought they suck, just asking if anyone did in an ironic way (sorry if there are people out there who don't understand irony) given the nature of the previous statements. I actually own a Jet and use lots of other Samsung handsets in the course of my work.
