JavaLag, 08 Jun 2015And this is history of android updates: Froyo --> i... moreThat isn't very fair. Android after Jelly Bean decreased lag dramatically and it has only gotten better. Older devices didn't always fair well, but that has more to do with the skins on top of stock Android. It is getting much better. I prefer iOS, but Android has made some significant progress in the speed and battery consumption department.

It's not malware that slows it down. It was improper processor choice. It should have had an A6X instead of an A5X. It was rushed to market. It also isn't that slow. I would backup to iCloud and restore from iTunes on a PC or Mac. I own one as well and the hiccups are very infrequent. Its not as fast as an iPad Air 2, but it is a little too old to be making that kind of comparison. Android OEM's don't even update most of their devices. Google updated the 2012 Nexus line, but other vendors left their devices out to dry. The Nexus launched a 7 inch device with a Tegra 3 5 months later and of course that is going to be faster with less pixels to push. That is why Apple released the iPad 4 around 200 days later. They screwed up, but the iPad 3 isn't nearly as slow as you are making it out to be and you have 2 devices that are much smaller to compare it to. Not a fair comparison in my opinion and I think a restore would do you some good.

AnonD-1825, 07 Jun 2015IOS is great example how OS should build up, every year it ... moreYeah except others do that too. IOS just simply keeps it all away and adds pieces to keep control. And perfectly? That's why they all crash mite in iOS right?
And you consider the phones and then an update to finally include MMS practical?

Yeah. They were so advanced that they had to release 3 phones and then a following os update to include MMS.... Because they were so advanced.

IOS is great example how OS should build up, every year it gets more great features but it still have maintain that familiar usability the whole time and all the features have clued perfectly to OS without sacrificing the same usability which have been there always.
Thats one reason why Apple takes lot of time to add certain features, because every part has to fit perfectly.
Interesting to see how they are going to implement the split screen multitasking.

The history of iOS updates summed up nicely: Stealth malware updates that lag and crash your device so that you buy a newer iDevice.
iPad 3 with iOS 8.3 lags everywhere.

For clarification iOS does task switching since it's limited to one foreground app so it's not multitasking.
