AnonD-305089, 13 Jun 2015Android one is intended for Farmers or rural population. Ho... moretrue

If android one aims to sell phones at sub $200 range, then google should contact Lenovo, Meizu, Asus, Xiaomi, Huawei, and others because they have been manufacturing phones at this price point at way better specs than the current android one phones. Lenovo K3 Note for example is a Full HD phone LTE at this price range.

Android one is intended for Farmers or rural population. However the people who buy it are the budget conscious city folks. The brands tied up with Android One are pathetic.

The farmers and labour folks won't even understand the importance of On time updates. What are they even trying to sell?

Better hardware like 5 inch hd display, snapdragon cpu, better internal storage are needed.

If Android One handsets are not selling well....it's not Google loss...it's people loss....they go for so called high specy fine selling thru idiotic flash sale....at cheaper price....and when they get it....they realize....that they shud not have gone for it.

I have hands on experience on mmx and spice Android One phones and lemme tell u....that Android One is very gud initiative by Google....phones are fantastic...smooth...pure Android....with guaranteed updates.

It has something to do with the specs. All of the Android One devices till now have only had 4gb memory and 1gb of ram memory. Even if it was 8gb or 16gb there is also the bad cpu and gpu combo. Very bad gpu. Old Mali 400mp2. People actually care about specs now, compared to some time ago.

Put "by GOOGLE" on the phone instead of "android one". It will sell like hot cake.

Google should consider 5.5 to 6inch phones as well. Look at how Alcatel flash plus and Meizu note is doing.

I bought this phone for IDR 800k (+- USD 60),, in this price range,, no one beat the experience.. already updated to 5.1.1 (which other more expensive still lagging behind) the phone work flawlessly, in term of experience despite the soc used. didn't face lag, or stutter or anything.
but if I can give suggestion, the camera is sh*t (dejavu like previous nexuses). I hope google build android one with greater spec in price range USD 100 - 150, or even $200 (from known brand, if needed) and I'm sold....

AnonD-145379, 12 Jun 2015i agree on selling OS but think from customer point of vie... moreexactly what i was thinking.if android one is supposed to be like Nexus on a budget then google got their target market wrong. people who buy phones on a budget (especially in emerging markets) couldn't care less about what OS version it has, all they need to hear is they're android, they focus more on the specs. now if this is supposed to appeal with the more tech-updated( the ones who do care about the OS version) they are more likely to 1.want pure android on a high-spec'd phone and 2.have the means to buy one.

Im from the Philippines using Cherry Mobile One for months now. I love the phone, a justified device I should say. And that the major reason that bought this phone is because of Google's name on it. Because before local brand phone here have very bad reputation having poor quality both in hardware and software. But having the Google stamp on it makes me trust and be excited to get the device. I also believe that Android One has so much potential because of its affordability and its up to date OS. But that being said what I think the reason its not doing so well on the market is because of the stigma people have with locally branded phones I know Google is doing their best but I dont it its enough. I am already using a 8 inch phone and I am not going back to a small phone.
There are also those buyers who are worried what would happen after 2 years.

Unless they're going to give away free internet with purchases, an advertisement-driven tech company is not going to do well in developing countries. What Google does is low priority for this target market.
