That's no update, that's their way of saying we are doomed, and looking for excuses. S6 also got a chipset downgrade to stop overheating. This is because their devices are so slim, and such chipsets require more room. Or with simple, punk words 'dayymn they reached the fu..ing limit"

Why are you always talking about SD 810? We know that it heats allot. Samsung Exynos 7420 heats too. My boss has Galaxy s6 Edge and before update it heated alot. Once you can't hold it in hand. But now after update it is OK. Why are you not talking about that. HTC fixed that somehow; it is not perfect but OK. Sony will fix it with update and end of story. Don't make elephant of a mouse.

hahaha, hahahahahah, hahahahahha ha! Another one bites the dust! Well done, nice move LG :)

The problem is lack of a heatsink.. It might help if the thermal glue the chipset to the aluminium frame and give the outer frame a drooved look as to increase surface area

The model number does not always denote time of manufacture or time of production. Following your analogy would mean 815 will always be an older chip than 820 (to you) even if both would actually release at the same time or if 820 would have actually get released ahead of 815... Snapdragon 810 is a faulty chip in a beta stage of its development. LG recognized that even publicly and Qualcomm made them apologize in order to supply them with the older but much more stable 808 chip. Now all that Sony can do is to copy HTC's "solution" and underclock and undervolt the processor by default. But the real shame is on Qualcomm here. If they don't come up with a better solution soon, they could suffer badly. The Chinese solutions are already cheaper and if they become also undoubtedly better, then you can waive Qualcomm goodbye. Of course, the sealed waterproof structure of Z4 doesn't help as well.

Believe it or not you can't add more power without space inside a device. PC's can get more and more powerful because inside them they have cooling fans that prevent overheating. But in mobiles you can't do that. And ridiculously slim devices will suffer from overheating with heavy tasks.

My problem with xiaomi is, availablility in Europe, no sd card, and 5,7 phablet. Else xiaomi seems to found a way to cool the soc to get real performance and this is a Blamage for Qualcomm. And this might not be possible in smaller devices. The battery life would be interesting to find out when the device is not overheating. Cos this is draining the battery much.
