Why don't Qualcomm change the name of the chipset if they says it is Version 2.1

SD810 has bad reputation, so advisable for Qualcomm to name it as SD812 or similar instead of SD810. Any thoughts?

I said this before on one of the sites...it should focus all its energy on bringing the 820, 818 etc to the market. As it stands now the 810 has a bad rap be it warranted or not. The overheating rumor will keep some ppl from buying even low cost good devices that have these chips.

Like I said before, just use the 810 with 2 A57 cores disabled and call it 809.
Great GPU and the cores shouldn't overheat that way.
                  Profit!

I think the most respectable thing for Qualcomm would be to retire it's FireDragon 810 SoC before it damages the company's reputation any further.

Let's keep it positive, guys, and say that it's a great year for all of us who both SD 801 devices last year. I got the OPO and I'm certainly happy that I don't feel like upgrading this year which happens almost never since new diverse come out and make you want to spend more on them. :D

I wonder why they don't use the Snapdragon 805 instead.
It doesnt overheat and is on average as fast as the 808, but has a better GPU.

So much for their talk on putting a newer version of the chipset, They are not even sure how it is going to perform and want the customers to tell them. Nice try :)

808 isn't a heater, it's also 1.8 ghz. Perhaps it can be undervolted too at that frequency. If it works, will surely be better than the 808.
