20 November, 2009
Samsung surprised us all by showcasing two yet unannounced handsets at a Corby event we just visited. The Samsung S7070 full-touchscreen handset and the S5150 (codenamed Olivia) clamshell are...

Give their products with much innovation fw or applications and icrease costumer service quality is more important rather than make much products with same feature with different design :)

Kal, 21 Nov 2009Seems to me you have been anticipating new high end phones.... moreErrr Yeah.....That's only 2 handsets, one running on the dated Symbian OS and the other an unimaginative update which the manufacturers said ''Let's just put 12mp on here and not do something totally new so more people will buy this'' The fact is, the camera may be a first like the Satio but not enough marketing and a lazy attitude toward the industry will make people forget this, tech wise, very little has changed and what is it that most handsets do today, the touchscreen which the crapple phone made more popular despite it not being the first manufacturer to invent the technology. MWC only happens once a year, whereas realistically, it should happen every month as the phones I am seeing today have absolutely NO change whatsoever, and MWC usually only advertises a majority of handsets that will be released 6 months later by which that time, they will be obsolete. God it's almost 2010 for crying out loud, make a product that is WORTHY of the mantle of being 2010, the future, not some tired old gimmick from 2007.

Well don't you think end of the year is not the right time for those announcement, specially when WMC is coming up. It takes close to 9-12 months for something new to develop. There are high end models in development and all we have to wait till February next year. 2010 is going to be interesting. Even the X10 is not coming before 2010 feb. Sony's announcement surely made people feel comfortable, but that about it. And sorry I cant agree with you that there was nothing new in 2009. OmniaHD, pixon12 did set new heights to the market this year.

Maybe Samsung is not my favorite
and this handset looks like a bubble paper
              but let’s be objective
              Creativity is a must
look other brand they have the nice and the ugly ones as well
and not all people have the same taste
so I want to give credits to the designers and cheer them.

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2009Samsung has now become the new "Nokia". Announcing new phon... moreNormally I support Nokia, but I have to agree with you. There are NO technological advances whatsoever, the phone industry is in exactly the same stale state with little acheived, barring flashy OS's. No advancement in Camera Technology, the majority of smartphones use pitiful '5' megapixel sensors, user interfaces are pretty much the same as they were 4 years ago and look dull/dated. I hate the Iphone but at LEAST Apple showed some innovation and a vision of moving forward. Android is showing potential but it needs to garner a handset that will wow people like the Droid, but we are constantly bombarded with what, mid range handsets with NOTHING new or fresh and a rehash of a previous model with a slightly different design and silly name and exactly the same features, yawn!

We only get one good piece of news a week that is reality, the most recent being the XPERIA X10, which Sony and Android have ruined by not implementing software 2.0, the HTC Hero is great, but let's face it, in the world of tech, each model becomes obsolete within 3-6 months and tech heads and consumers get bored quickly of stale handsets that make the news every day shifting from carrier to carrier or with a new price drop, NO ONE CARES! Why is the price drop relevant when what these manufacturers should be doing is making thier handsets future proof witha VISION of the future and be creative at te same time, I am seeing NONE of that and as far as I'm concerned. A lack of updates or news in advancement toward 4G or Power saving or even greater graphic and game processors is the primary reason why so many use the crapple phone, because it is part of the future with a vision that these other manufacturers are failing to grasp and are stuck 4 years in the past.

God, phones are getting so boring and unoriginal, what the hell is wrong with the phone manufacturers? Only 3 great phones are out, the Droid/HTC HD2 and N900, BEYOND a joke. It's almost 2010, yet we aare treated to such mundane boring c**p every week, and I'm getting tired with a lack of anything new or fresh for almost 3 months now. Bring out the HTC Dragon powered by Android 2.0, Gphone, Zune HD smartphone with WinMo7 and with RFID technology, more Maemo N Series smartphones with technological advances towards 4G development and Maemo 6 plus the Archos Android Tablet Smartphone running 2.0. The Iphone 4G is still well off till Summer 2010, THIS is what we should be getting each week, not the BS run of the mill trash we are exposed to.
