Another midrange HTC that will never see latest Android update. No thanks. Nexus 5 is still far better than this.

And sooo many small variations in model names from HTC, which is unlike them. Yeah, it tends to be confusing!

The one quoted here by GSMArena is the HTC Desire 826x, which supposedly has a 4 UltraPixel front camera, and CDMA support too.
Assuming my information is right, they are neither wrong nor slow.

AnonD-196881, 25 Jun 2015are you sure that galaxy s5 or nexus 5 are better than desi... moreIts not the performance that is lagging. Although One plus, Mi, Huawei, Lenovo all offer higher speced devices for cheaper. Even Moto X (2015) is cheaper at Rs.22000.
Performance is decent, can do decent multitasking and Sense UI is light and smooth and fast. But the phone heats up like a hot pan when is under stress. If we are gaming for 10-15 mins or video streaming for 20-30 mins, its too hot to handle.
And the size is also too big. Its bigger than Note 2 I had earlier. I was a fan of HTC and bought it, but returned it back. There are many better options for that price especially in India

This cannot be right. GSMArena has been slow and inaccurate on this one. HTC Desire 826 Dual sim has been available for almost 2 months now.
Source: Me. I bought this model around a month back for 23500 ($369)
Release price quoted in the article is also wrong. It was released at 28490 ($449) but is selling at 23000 ($360) now

m using this 826 from 1 month.. juzz loved it...;) PROS : awesome looks ;) 1080P (403ppi) beautiful display , 2gb ram n 2600mah battery , snapdragon 615 , both 13mp camz are awesome !!! CONS : heating issue , battery should be atleast 3000 for 1080P large screen :/ overall phone is too good ! great work by HTC ;) :)

Well, if you ask me, S5 has far better main camera. Contrarily, D826 has same awful camera 816 had. Other than that SD801 is of higher league. Many people don't really like the huge size such as of D826. Moreover, I know some who prefer Touchwhiz over sense. So, D826 isn't as exciting as you fancy.

I don't know why most of people and near to 100% of sites are htc enemies?????!!!!! for sure desire 826 is better than s5,s4,nexus4,5 or some thing like them

Mi 4 with 64GB Internal memory, 3GB RAM, 5.0" Full HD, SD 801 is going for 20k. How come HTC thought the 826 would fetch them 27k!!? This is the very reason for HTC sales going south wards.
