well yes , samsung really are in the lead....nokia and s/e really need to pull up their ranks and come out with something good to rattle up the market...as a kid i've owned mobiles since i was 16...

i never liked nokia much because their interface didnt look as good as sony's flash themes...at that time i didnt know they were capable of multitasking and installing apps like a pc...but they used to lag like hell...i am talking about 6600 days...then i bought an n73 and n95 and to say i was shocked would be an understatement...the n95 had ruled back in 2007 even despite its shortcomings (battery, ram, slider and all)...but you all will agree that it was the most accomplished device of its times with no competiton...things looked rosier with devices like n95 8gb , n82 , n85 , n79 (96 and 78 were exceptions) but they were losing a bit of their touch in multimedia esp in the camera department...the competition was offering 8mp phones with xenon flash , face and smile detection , divx playback (Innov8 , C905)...even the current flagship...the n97 needs more RAM , a faster CPU and a better camera...hopefully the n900 addresses this but it still offers only 5mp...i mean c'mon...why are they still sticking with an obsolete technology ?? i dont know why they are afraid to go beyond the 5 mark...is it some kinda sensor-size or design limitation ?? its hard to tell bcoz samsung and sony have successfully implemented 8 mp cameras on their phones last year...

sony on the other hand has been moving slowly but steadily , almost unnoticed...their k850i was good handset...a true 5mp phone...yes it lacked wi-fi and wasnt as capable as the smarter n82 but offered good battery life and microSD support...there were W880 , W960 , W980 , C903 and W902 but then came top-dogs like C905 , W995 each one in a league of its own to take sony back to the peak...recently with Satio and Aino , they have hit criticism again and are still recovering...maybe Xperia X2 and X10 will redeem some pride...

if sony was moving steadily , samsung was a stealth-bomber...their g800/g810 werent as good as n95 but offered great value for money...then came innov8 and it simply blew the competition away...all that the n96 and others had plus a better camera and good audio quality added to a gr8 battery life alongside symbian...it was "the" phone to own a yr back...in came the first omnia , s8300 ultra touch with its superb touch interface and video capability...as time matured , their grip on the multimedia esp the touch market tightened with phones like the Jet , Omnia II and i8910 HD...its not just these high-enders,volume sales gained too w/ Star and Corby...they look ready to take on the world...

i cant say the same for LG bcoz i havent seen many good models from their sleeve...Viewty was good but not enough...Renoir was ill fated to lose all the limelight amidst Innov8 and C905...Crystal , Prada and all were well-designed phones but not blockbusters....last i heard Arena was their bestseller...

however all samsung turf out is touch phones so this is not surprising at all not much choice for the consumer with samsung.

My old nokia n95 gave me a tough time, now i'm happy with my samsung g810,my dad have been using e880 for past 3years without any problem,if u see samsung phones page 3 you'll find many users using samsung phones for many years happily.
With samsung its not that hard to imagine.

They should make Corby WiFi just like the Star WiFi. Star WiFi has done great in the Middle East and if they release a Corby WiFi, I'm sure it will be a success too.
