i just have this phone last october.. and still in good condition.. the picture is clear, i can watch movies on it.. it has a clear sound.. there is no problem in unit i guest it is only in proper handling..

i have used the aino for 3 months and apparently it randomly started to have a black screen with lights on and off every few seconds, i've tried to take the battery out and back in, but it still has the same problem as when its switched on it only shows the sony ericcson screen and thn continues to have a blank screen.
but.. when i take the sim card out it actually shows the normal background and screen, except there is no point in using it if nothing works on it unless you dont have a sim card.

Rumours? Nothing wrong?
I purchased mine 10 Nov via an ebay retailer (singapore), brand new.
2 to 3 weeks use, mine has definately developed a fault.
It has now been returned, and I await a replacement.
(I am in Australia)
It suddenly just lost it's touch capabilities.
No, it was never bumped, dropped, banged around, or mistreated in any way. It was babied. I wanted no scratches at all, so it was very well looked after, and, if you were to open the box now, on its way back to the vendor, you'd think it was new, unopened.
The touchsceen, and associated functions just became unusable, and the screen lock button on top also failed to do anything.
The rest of the phone continued to operate faultlessly.
I love SE, have had numerous SE phones for some time now, and will continue to to so.
Just a lil dissappointed about this faulty unit.
Hopefully it really is a one off...

Ericsson is a major communications company. Sony is just a very powerful Brand name - Sony need Ericsson as much as Ericsson needs Sony (its 50 - 50). Sony is the Brand everyone knows, but Ericsson is the technology behind it (Think Blueooth just as one example).

Walked into a carphonewarehouse and phones4u this morning in hounslow high street (london), and both the shops mentioned that Aino and Satio have been called back by Sony. True or they just being cautious and not selling... not sure. they said something about the Aino touch system crashing.
Anybody else got this?

Hi!
I just bought a SE U10i (Aino). I previously owned a SE K750i, a K800i and a K810i.
Before that I owned several Nokias. I always enjoyed Nokia because it was fast. Then SE phones were fast and had intuitive menus and several control options.
And I always enjoyed CyberShot brand of SE phones. Pictures just have GREAT QUALITY!.
Now I am satisfied with SE Aino, but it has 2 down sides. Battery goes flat very quick. System seems slowish... :(
I just hope they improve that some how.
Also I would like to be able to disable that touch me feature, when closed.
And Im still searching Java apps/games that I can use with the accelerometer and wide screen.

Ericsson was a proven failure back in Y2K when any company that makes electronic makes money. Ever since Sony gave them the second chance, well besides the first couple of series are outstanding, Ericsson's phone are all crap. Not to mention Sony gave them the Walkman(R) tech, they still insist to make it like a piece of shit.... Phones are always late on dude date, quality wise is joke, customer service is shit. I don't know what those ignorant guys in Ericsson are up too but I will refuse to buy SE until they really learn to respect their customer.

It's true that most people bash SE products because they just can't accept the fact that many and I mean many people love and believe in SE products and sony in general. It's rare to see se fans going to samsung or lg phones forums to bash them because they simply believe that their sony is better so they don't waste their time. On the other hand, people who like samsung or lg know that sony ericsson is more popular and even better in general, so they keep bashing us(se fans). And for all those people who are wondering why people love sony? Well because simply they are the best regarding quality, reliability and durability and this is from our personal experience. samsung and lg yes yes nice phones, amazing features but with a lot of maintenance problems so it's like something shiny but empty from inside. And now since the Aino is ok, it leaves only the satio which had the problem only in the uk! Other than that SE is fine and they have the best quality. And we people think wise we don't think like kids that's the reason why we are SE FANS THAT'S THE REASON WHY SE FOR EVER!

Just a rumour? What about the fact that they are only on sale a short while and the reported fault of touchscreen not working has been found in several units already. Cover up? Time will tell as more get returned.

the Aino is expensive, its at that price level where whoevers buying it will be able to save a little more and buy any other highend phone
so when people say that the Saito or N97 or Hero or whatever phone is better their saying its better for the price
thats not called biased or haterate
besides SE did mess up and not add a 3.5mm audio jack, there is no excuse for this
