luca, 04 Dec 2009When Nokia will learn that in order to have a good selling ... morethey dont get along too well with carriers locking up their top end models like the N and E series, america is one of the only placdes that do that anyways, some countries even go so far as to ban sim locking by wireless carriers, and I prefer it that way, more selection at level pricing curves, none of that imbalance with the contract pricing nonsense

Im an American and I buy unlocked only, Ill only pick up a free phone from the carrier at upgrade time, but then turn right around and sell it

OK, guys. I agree there are several better phones for $479, but...
My mom owns 5800, it would better fit my 14 year old daughter than my mom. It's OK for the price, but touch screen experience is far from perfect. I ordered myself N900 (unfortunately it's been almost 2 weeks and I still do not have it).
Now N97 mini: smaller case (than N97, N900), beautiful looks, metal back and grate resistive touch screen experience (much better than 5800)... my wife is very happy with it.
It looks a way better than iPhone, she uses her nails to touch screen, it's heavy (not too heavy) and finally it's just a grate phone with much better organizer and calendar than her older Windows based phone. That's an answer. This phone is not for geeks. This phone is for people how prefer looks to extra features. My N900 looks ugly compare to my wife's N97 mini. I choose N900. She is happy with N97 mini.

When Nokia will learn that in order to have a good selling results in North America you have to sell the phone through carriers not Amazon or Nokia shop.

You can get a Nokia n900 new off Amazon for $480...same price as this overpriced piece of hardware. It should sell for $320, then it would be compelling, people would be buying this crap left and right.

Sorry, too much. I can get a normal n97 from Craigslist for $380-400. I was planning on getting a Mini, but for this price... GTFO. I made up my mind.... will beither be getting a Nokia 6700 Classic or a Nokia N82 and wait til' next year to see what Nokia has for us. I read that they're bringing out a N87 with 12mp Xenon AND Led, 3.2 capaciitive touch screen. So ill just wait... for now a N82 or 6700 classic will do.

                BOYCOTT THE MINI!!!!!!!!

I hate the mini even though it has metal back cover.

Mine is a squicky back cover so it's annoying but the 32GB is needed as I have so many files to save (pics and videos)

If it was released at the same time, I will get the mini despite the surely low price of the mini.

It took this long to get it in the US? WOW! Nice one, Nokia.
