Facebook wants Adobe to announce Flash's expiry date

14 July, 2015
Facebook's chief security officer Alex Stamos, who joined the social networking company just over a couple of weeks ago, has called for an end to Adobe Flash. Over the past weekend, he sent out a couple of tweets sharing his thoughts on the matter.

If one platform is being abused it is freaking facebook.

Copy paste and suddenly your photo is in the news, cause it is legal.

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2015If Flash is buggy then it is better to fix those bugs!... or simply DON'T USE FLASH!

Djeez, how stupid some people are.
WTF is wrong with web-designers these days? Don't like it... then don't use it! It is THAT simple!

The thing is that if you use Flash as it was intended to be used then you have no problems at all! But because all these web-designers use Flash for stuff that it wasn't designed for in the first place, they complain about Flash.

Flash was designed to create dynamic elements on webpages and make web-pages slightly more animated. It wasn't designed to create web-apps or videoclips to name a few.
The real problem with Flash are the web-designers themselves.

Flash should die as fast as possible. It has security issues.

Huh, it's Facebook that's buggy. It slows down computers to a halt. Facebook's "open graph protocol" is a piece of crawiling slow shit, as is it's entire website

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2015If Flash is buggy then it is better to fix those bugs! There will always be more bugs. No point wasting money supporting something the industry has mostly moved past, or is in the process of moving past. Best to announce a kill date sometime in the future.

Just as long as everyone is onboard, this is a great idea, won't have to worry about flash not working on Android eventually.

This guy is a stupid moron. If you dislike flash so much then SIMPLY don't use the damn thing on those crap-infested facebook-webpages, djeez. But if you keep creating flashpages then obviously visitors browser's will use flash, doh!
Complain to that monkey that designed your bloody website, moron.
