Satendra Chauhan, 16 Jul 2015Display should be 5.5 inchThank god this will not be the case. 5.0" is the maximum I would like a phone to be...maybe up to 5.2" if it has really thin bezels.

2 RAM version it's great feature!

Hayaz, 15 Jul 2015The front along with the speakers LOOKS like the 2nd gen mo... moreBecause it is 2nd gen Moto G's image in the article.

Anonymous, 15 Jul 2015I don't get why people are complaining about the CPU. It's ... moreWell, because then there's no need to get this version when there is NO difference b/w the first, second and third gen models. (well except the difference in SoCs, which is laughable)

The reason why the first Moto was a hit, was because it managed to get close to the Nexus 4 (at the time of launch). In other words, it was touted as the "Poor Man's Nexus" or a "Budget Nexus", if you will.

However, for reasons known best to Motorola themselves, the successive iterations haven't been anything like the original. The SD410 might have been an 'upgrade' (if you can call it that) moving from 2013 to 2014 but in 2015 it isn't bringing anything new at all. Well, except the physical design and a bump to the camera and the RAM (which will of course demand a premium)

Point is, that the VFM (Value For Money) parameter cannot be applied to the Moto G line anymore. There are better phones, at a lesser price point, currently available in the market.

So once again, what's with the same config Motorola ?

...unless, this turns out to be a speculation and Motorola actually surprises us. Therefore, the ''complaining". More like an informed query regarding stagnation in their product line. And no, 615 is NOT expensive when Xiaomi can do it (for a slightly higher price, though I'm sure the 2GB version might cost the same). This might clear it up for you.

ppl that don't play 3d games won't overheat the SoC anyway, but a higher SoC will still give a smoother experience to those ppl

Still SD 410?? Then whats the diff bw Moto E and Moto G?? Except for the camera?? Why cant they give SD 615 with this to differentiate with Moto E?

I don't get why people are complaining about the CPU. It's fine. If it was a 615 or something else it would have been more expensive. The most important thing is the RAM. The 1GB RAM on the last gen models were not acceptable. Force closes of apps all the time. So the 2GB is a welcome addition to the phone.

410 soc is the ONLY processor which heats less..... 615's a heater, 801 - heater , 810 -well :P 410 is great for everything except for people who play heavy 3D games 24/7 ...

Motorola doesn't make sense. This is going to end up having worse performance when compared to the Moto E because it's using the same chipset (clocked at .2 ghz faster) while pushing a lot more pixels around. Motorola should have used either the Snapdragon 415, 425, or 610 to differentiate the phone more.

Good. But just good and nothing more. If Moto E LTE has Snapdragon 410 this should have at least Snapdragon 415. It has same cores (a53 64bit), but way better GPU. The same as Snapdragon 615. The biggest problem with Snapdragon 410 is the GPU. Same power as Adreno 305 in Snapdragon 400. It just wont cut it with HD display and modern apps anymore.
