Sailfish OS has nothing to do with Android (other than the compatibility they introduced at some point for Android apps)!
It's a completely different OS.
Yes, they both use the Linux kernel, but they are two distinct Linux distros. They are not based on one another.

Looking forward to it...Original Jolla which I have has classic European looks even though it didn't suite the swipe interface like in N9. I am keeping fingers crossed on what Intex can do. Just an metal body will not be enough to impress me. For Indian Rupees 15,000 and new OS with almost no penetration, specs and overall design has to be top notch to make any kind of impact. Will reserve judgement for tomorrow, but I feel there will be nothing for Jolla lovers to brag about.
