    infrs red for remote buddy

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2015Infra red?? what year do you live in?Infrared remote control functions to control projector, tv, air conditioner, or any appliances. Your AC unit isn't connected on your wifi network, is it? For example, in the classroom, the TV or remote control unit is usually with the custodian office and you have to sign up to borrow it with your ID being surrendered - you don't have to do that EVERY time since you can remote it with your phone. Which Century are you from?

AnonD-418316, 17 Jul 2015I agree, stop complaining about the SD card, SD cards are p... moreI sense you are a typical big city person (probably in the US) who thinks the whole world has unlimited data and blistering speeds. Even on unlimited cloud with good 4G as if you would want to wait 10-15 minutes for a 2GB movie to download.

I have good 4G but anymore than a 3GB plan starts costing a bit... which is why i have a 128GB SD card. Also, i spend a lot of time with work in the outback (where only get $2/min satellite phone coverage) and I need instant access to about 60GB worth of topo and mapping data.

I'm a happy user with micro SD slot option. Why in the heck are people questioning that option to still exist? Easy answer - VOLUME of media you want in your mobile. I happen to live in a country where the carriers restricts data speeds. Although I'm with an "unlimited" data LTE service, they slow down by limiting the data speed to some 30 to 50kbps. See how silly it is? So, the argument of "just use cloud" isn't for me. I currently have 230GB for OneDrive, and it is such a pain just uploading stuff - no way you can rely it for video streaming.

UFS is great jump for speed - now we want to see a jump in its available volume option. It is a disappointment that the manufacturers would like to milk the consumers first by slowwwwwwly trickling volume options first while knowing that they could easily put out terabyte models. When the micro SD cards still came out in megabyte instead of the gigabytes we are used to now, it was already possible to out 2 terabytes of storage capacity, and they haven't done that because they want a constant flow of cash, and if they did, people will just buy that and won't buy another for years. And I bet they're also just controlling the speed options too - yeah, it's very hard for them to out a micro SD card that goes 500mbps... right?

Any case, the price for a 128GB micro SD card is affordable enough. 64GB ones now are already half the price than it first came out. UFS is good for internal - fine. I'd like to see Samsung to out a 128 to 256GB models please (at affordable price less than $1000?), in order for me to at last say good bye to micro SD cards. I doubt these will be affordable enough. Logically, I'd get the Note 4 for my S Pen, removable storage and changeable battery needs. No to paying more for something that gives me less features and a glass back, and to show off how it is 1mm+ thinner.

UFS 2.0 uses MIPI Gear 3 as the physical signalling layer. It's a much faster standard that eMMC. Get used to it, until someone comes up with a better removable storage option it's going to disappear.

I think what you guys want is what Google is trying to do with Project Ara. Modular hot swap-able parts on a phone. Makes sense for the current state of mobile storage platforms.

SD Cards are quickly becoming the new floppy. If companies really just wanted to stiff you for cash and have "rich only" phones they would limit your options for copying your own material to the devices such as music and movies outside their stores.

Faster internal memory and nothing with latency issues such as SD Cards allow manufacturers to provide a better user experience with less lag input than previously allowed.

I've owned 3 different iPhones 3GS, 4S, 5S, HTC One (M7), Nexus 5, Samsung Note 3, S5, and now hold and S6 Active. If you need space there are plenty of options on the market, not to mention if you really need 128GB of music and videos maybe you should rethink how often you actually use all of that media. Or at least invest in USB accessories that will alleviate this problem. Also physical copies are slowly dying, most everything is becoming digital only.

But I'm totally a techno sheep. I love rooting, roming, jailbreaking and tinkering. It's my passion.

All I want is a stable platform with zero lag and fast response. If I want to watch movies I'll just use an accessory.
