Certificates define the quality of the product. Certifications authorities are made so that the products manufactured comply to global/ geographic standards. Though all of them not necessary few global standards are mandatory such as ROHS, CE, FCC... etc. They are required for public safety ( Health, security, privacy....) and compliance to global communication standards.

CESG was giving such a certification to iPhones each year since iOS6 was released! Since 2012!" Apple was never, ever mentioned in the Communications-Electronics Security Group (CESG) website http://www.cesg.gov.uk/servicecatalogue/Product-Assurance/CPA/Pages/Certified-products.aspx run by the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) http://www.gchq.gov.uk/Pages/homepage.aspx in the UK! Or perhaps, you are still waiting that someone, will somehow get to some kind a confuse, then ultimately decide to buy an iPhone, believing that CESG as this comment says, also certifying Apple like Samsung got, through the Galaxy S6, and the Galaxy S6-Edge!

You!, are a deceiver!; fabricator!; fibber!; prevaricator!; liar!!

oh well done SAMSUNG for getting even deeper in the anti developers list from now on. Due to KNOX I skipped buying the galaxy s5 and s6 because they are not developers friendly devices but good for the general public.

Samsung is happy to announce that its Galaxy S6 and S6 edge smartphones have had their encryption certified by the UK's Communications and Electronics Security Group. This is a government body that certifies devices for use by high-ranking people in the UK.

Samsung's latest flagships have both been approved for use at the "official" level, which means they are recommended devices for government and public sector organisations, including the police, local councils, hospitals, as well as government departments.

Samsung boasts that it is the first mobile handset maker to receive such a certification from this UK-based authority. The CESG has conducted rigorous testing on the two devices, ensuring they meet a stringent set of security requirements.

People who complain about no SD card should know that such certification is impossible for a phone with external storage. Having finger print sensor makes you tension free about the security of your phone but having a SD card makes your personal data insecure. Nearly everyone of us keeps personal data in our phone like pics, videos or documents we will never like to share and memory card being the default storage puts a threat on the security of this data anyone having your phone can remove the SD card and get access to that data no matter your phone is fingerprint secured or what. It can be encrypted but how many of us really do that? It will be wrong to say that they keep personal data in internal storage only because all the data in your phone is actually personal.
