Anonymous, 26 Jul 2015"Removable battery, removable battery, removable batte... moreHow much you think it costs to replace a battery in phones like HTC One, S6 etc that are all glued together?
It's not cheap and after 2 years most will say it's just not worth it and have to buy a whole new phone instead of just a few dollars for a new battery to slot in.

"Removable battery, removable battery, removable battery, removable battery, WAH! WAH! WAH! WAH!"

Just buy a portable charger. You don't even have to turn the device off or take the back cover off. Recharging it is also far easier. Last time I carried around a spare battery for a phone was for a 3310. You're just making pathetic excuses. It's not even like there's much difference in price either...

Why are we praising Samsung on something that has LESS overall features than the last model? The Note 5 has no user-changeable battery, no more infrared remote blaster, and no memory expansion.

Why do we want it to be as limited like the iPhone?

Echoing just at the absurdity and illogical thinking of what manufacturers against what should be a more practical way of operating device:

          1. "Wow, they made the device 1mm thinner. Amazing!" You end up with a device that is more fragile - case and point the iPhone 6 Plus.
          2. "No more ugly removable plastic back, now glass." You increased the chances of breaking your device by accidental drops by 100%. You are forced to getting that cover to thicken that "thin" device.
          3. "Fast charging and wireless charging will be great implementations". You increase ruining your battery by another 100%, as more heat are generated from these methods of charging.
4." There's no need for micro SD card, there's cloud storage". Geez, unless you have paid for cloud storage of at least 100 GB, and AFFORD to have VERY fast service speeds, this is a frustrating way to access your files.

Anonymous, 21 Jul 2015You are such a delusional guy. Are you still living in 2002... moreLaptops are designed to be disassembled so can change the battery even if it's not removable, but phones like S6, HTC One, iPhone etc are designed to be as difficult as possible to repair and change the battery that when the battery dies most will just buy a new phone, and if you're calling people delusional for not liking that then you're the delusional one.

And in leaving Android, you're the leaving the TRUE synergy that Apple wishes they had, with everything saved to cloud storage (screw the people who say it isn't safe. Nothing is safe), you will never have to beg your friends for their contact information like iPhone users do every month.

You've also got the support of an operating system used in almost 49% of the world's phones, while Apple's share in the market drops to only 17.2%. More people own Microsoft phone than Apple in 2015. BlackBerry comes -this close- to catching them at 11.1%.

Don't let the iSheep fool you. They're a dying breed.

"I really hope the Note 5 comes with a removable battery.
Otherwise, it will be totally useless for heavy work use and a lot of people, including myself (a faithful Samsung phone user since 2002) will have to switch to another brand !"

Or you could, you know, still use the Note 4. Unless this is a veiled threat. In which case, asking them to halt production of the 40M+ handsets they've already made for the August launch just so you can have a removable battery is ballsy.

Someone is still stuck in the past here. What are you gonna do if all smartphone brand moved on to unremovable battery? You will be the only person using old phones model in the future. Even laptop have unremovable battery. Era of removable battery is gone.

ithehappy, 21 Jul 2015Get this, anyone who needs any gadgets or anything as statu... moreExactly. These companies aim to sell millions. They aren't exclusive. Apple able to convince 50 million people makes it even more common, generic - not at all impressed with something so simplified, limited and plainly useless for me. Now this is what Samsung is trying to cash in with the more shiny, thinner and limiting functions, and the mass is not at all aware so much just as long as they get that shiny new device. They want the fake gold one.

The Galaxy Note series was all about pushing the boundaries and utilitarian functions up to only the Note 4. 5 and beyond looks like all about showing off and less to do it being a standalone device - you need any form of charger or power bank, wireless or micro USB compatible memory expansion, and they just took out the infrared remote controller feature. Pretty soon they'll take out the S Pen, and will advertise that you don't need it since the greatest input are your fingers...

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2015Sorry to tell you but Galaxy Note 5 only come in one versio... moreUSB drive hanging off the phone instead of an internal MicroSD is considered trend setting? To me it's called caving to google who wants you to use the cloud, and to reviewers who want the "premium" look (because they don't have to USE it or buy it, just look at it).

The actual consumer really doesn't care what the case is made of since those of use who buy these $700 devices usually cover them with a rubber case. We do care that they don't have expandable storage because otherwise it means a price hike of $100 per increment of storage above and beyond the standard 16 or 32gigs.

I can buy a 32 gig phone and use a 128gig SD card (like I can in my Note 3) for $600, what makes you think I want to pay $900 for the 128 meg version?

It just such a bad trend, regardless of who is setting it. Samsung, reviewers
