USB charging means if you take a laptop, take a data cable and plug into your phone, and it charges.
I checked various shops and even the almighty brand itself, and they all said 5800 does NOT support charging by USB. If you find otherwise, kindly share with us. Afterall, you're the god of...

just a piece of thoought,all of you guys are spending way too much....over phones software and everything else...

we could surf for free on the net,of course given we tweak the apps a bit,....

all phones can be charged using a usb connection,just need to have the proper equipment...

In fact customers who got the 5800 early this year are selling them to pay off their contracts to get iPhones, lol.
I've dropped my iPhone loads, still running like a dream.
Yes I'm typing from my iPhone, but I'm not suffering in the cold like you lol.
I could tell you were typing on your 5800 because you typed "tnat" instead of "that" and your grammar is terrible. If I did that on my iPhone, it would have fixed it automatically, haha! As you can tell my spelling and grammar is perfect, and I'm not even trying, apostrophes and everything!
Calm down though, I've got 16GB aswell, Most of it filled with 3D games, ahem.
Not to mention the "it" factor.

Don't know if you ever live in US before, if so, bet you don't want to use the term "poor" to describe them.
Just because they don't spend as much $ on phones that don't mean they're poor. Think about on average, what's the % of population in US owns cars vs. the rest of the world?
Do you know all the (annual) expenses incurred for running a car? Gasoline (even though relatively is cheaper than many places around the world, except mid-East), maintenance (even DIY), insurance (places like California may cause US$600 merely on liability), and for many guys, probably some more accessories.
The $ being spent on cars alone can buy x number of such crappy 5800 already, which doesn't even charge thru USB in 2009...

I picked this up on a Black Friday sale for $200 and it's the best deal ever. Phone has the latest firmware and everything works very well. I prefer this over my BB Bold and iPhone.

This phone has depriciated in value so much, nobody wants it because its so bad. I work in a phone shop, and weve had so many customers returning it becuase the hardware goes wrong or Symbian acts up.

No wonder they have to cut the price, nobody is buying it.

Guy just load the garmin xt mobile into 5800 express music. It work like a charm. Voice turn by turn all got.
One credit people need to acknowledge is that nokia do update nokia 5800 firmware. Always get latest firmware to clear software bug and improve performance.

$300 for this phone is not a bad price. all the new phones should be around this price. $600 or more for a damn phone is way too much.

It goes to show most of you have never used Nokia Maps. Its turn by turn voice navigation. Google is not. Free turn by turn is a great deal.

Meanwhile the iPhone launched in South Korea and apparently sold 60,000 on the first day in LG and Samsung territory and launches in Israel in a few hours.
Nokia are trying everything to break into the US.

even as an American with an unlimited data plan, id prefer not to have to load crap all the time, I want it ON MY PHONE, and it helps, my E75 can hunt down a POI faster than my dad's Garmin GPS, and it can get me there just as accurately and efficiently
as for pricing and all that, I do like that we pay less, but I really hate how we dont get the stuff until a good while after the europeans, and even then we dont get it all anyways
