It is the only brand I had trusted all this years. What other chipset maker should I look for? Mediatek? Spreadtrum? Intel? Exynos? Snapdragon have disappointed me.

Did you read here that Qualcomm already lay off 10% of their employees?
      This is how it starts!

Qualcomm is still dominating the chipset market, and will continue to do so for the coming years. 820 series will outperform Exynos with custom cores, and besides Samsung only uses Exynos for their phones. All other major OEM's (and the ones not so big too) will continue to use Qualcomm chips. "Same fate as TI OMAP", you are on drugs man...

Qualcomm their chips on Android were bad i remember when i bought my first Android phone it was Dell Streak it had Qualcomm in it, it was laggy and not even close to Exynos in S1 "Exynos used to be called Hummingbird".
The only reason why big manufacturers are using Qualcomm because its cheap and comes with LTE embedded in it which will save both money and battery life.
Even is S4 Exynos was better after few updates, Samsung haters were cheering for Qualcomm just for their despise for Samsung, Exynos was and still always better than Qualcomm.
Now with new chips out there i think Qualcomm won't have a chance anymore since Mediatek will dominate low and mid ranges.
I think Qualcomm will have the same fate as TI OMAP and Nokia.

Why not just release a solid unbeatable high end chipset per year. Thats what QC has been successfully doing for years. Mid and low end chips will automatically be a success. Keep it simple ! :)

This incident should stay as a reminder to Qualcomm that no matter how successful you are if you screw up once people will turn their back on you. Be carefull from now on and don't rush out a product. A reputation is hard to get back
