If you've been following you'd know that these non-existent apps you speak of are showing up fast in the Microsoft store. No apps and games.....windows10 + Xbox1= Complete domination. 4gb of ram on a phone and Windows10 going to be a hot device os. Yes I use android predominantly, But Windows+Xbox is looking pretty awesome.

App store has nothing to do with the quality of the OS. Apps are made by third parties. And speaking of that, all major, important apps are available in the Windows store.

      Speaking of material design - that was inspired from the Metro interface in Windows. So yeah... Android is trying to catch up to Windows. :)

        I can say Android 5 is ahead of its time! :)

          Good t hear, it would be nice of Acer would come with a high end flagship, a midrange phone and a budget phone, and for the niche a phablet

It's a mess in enterprise with too many different UIs. iOS is consistent like Windows Phone but it's homescreen is boring wall of static icons and overpriced devices. Windows 10 syncs between PC, mobile, other Windows 10 devices.

                    Quality of a handset is dependable. Body is a factor, decent hardware is another factor which is more important than the design; Software and Operating systems are factors which change the comparison to a new area.
                    A Windows Phone 8.1 handset with a Dual core CPU clocked at 1.5 Ghz, 1 GB of RAM and 2000 mAh battery looked as an outdated spec handset, but still Lumia 920/925 are is pace with their High end sibling Lumia 930 with much better specification which is still outdated.

                    I personally compared a Lumia 920 & a 925 with:
                    01 - HTC One XC (09/12 - Dual 1.5 - 1GB - v4.0 - 2000mAh)
                    02 - Huawei Ascend D1 XL (10/12 - Dual 1.5 - 1GB - v4.0 - 2600mAh)
                    03 - Sony Xperia T LTE (12/12 - Dual 1.5 - 1GB - v4.0.4 - 1850mAh)
                    04 - Motorola RAZR HD XT 925 (01/13 - Dual 1.5 - 1GB - v4.0.4 & v4.4.2 - 2500mAh)
                    05 - HTC One XL (07/12 - Dual 1.5 - 1GB - v4.0 & v4.1 - 1800mAh)
                    06 - LG Optimus L9 II (01/14 - Dual 1.4 - 1GB - v4.4.2 - 2150mAh)
                    07 - Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD (01/13 - Dual 1.5 - 1GB - v4.0.4 & v4.4 - 3300mAh)

                    As I used them in both daily use and as gaming handset in order to find the best in CPU,RAM, Battery life companion with their OS and the optimization of the OS in the long running tasks, each of them in the test was not restarted for 40 days continuously (charge them regularly).They were in my hands until 07-28 which they change to 20 Grand in an auction; Lumia 1020, Lumia 830, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, Wave S8500, BB Q10, Huawei Ascend P6, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III & Sony Xperia Z were among them.
                    I kept Lumia 920 Black as business phone, a black BB Q10 for better business security in my hand and a Galaxy Pop Plus as a back up phone.

                    My first test was done as the Lumia 920 was worked enough to be eligible to be tested in (07/2013) - The result was as follow:
                    These were involved (920, 925, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 07, 08, 09, 12, 13)
                    - My Daily Tasks performance after a month of being awake:
                    First: 09
                    Then: 07 - 04 - 05 - 12 - 925 - 02 - 13 - 03 - 920 - 10

                    - My Business Jobs :
                    First: 08
                    Then: 925 - 12 - 920 - 13 - 09 - 05 - 07 - 03 - 04 - 02 - 01

                    Second Test was took place after the latest Update of them all in (06/2015):
                    All of them were involved
                    - My Daily Tasks:
                    First: 920
                    Then: 925 - 12 - 11 - 09 - 10 - 13 - 07 - 04 - 06 - 08 - 05 - 01 - 03 - 02

                    - My Business Jobs:
                    First: 925
                    Then: 12 - 920 - 11 - 07 - 04 - 13 - 08 - 10 - 09 - 06 - 05 - 01 - 03 - 02

                    Tested phone are not necessarily the best in their category, but they are in range of 1.3~1.5Ghz (With various architecture) with 1GB RAM.
                    My daily tasks consists of, gaming, web surfing, messaging, calling.
                    My business jobs are those who related to virtualization, networking, graphic designing, data collecting, photography and documentary movie making as jobs documentations.

                    The above tests told me that optimization in Windows Phone 8 (WP8) which will turn to Windows 10 Mobile (WXM) change in positive way, so Qualcomm SoCs and the OS handle most of burden of operation, and I know in windows ecosystem, specifically WXM, instead of phone manufacturer who must be a good optimizer in order to make valuable high end phones, Microsoft must do that and those companies only need to set some minor fixed in camera, sound and screen departments in order to achieve the most out of the OS.

                        Acer tablets and phones are crap. Inferior material built and a lack of after sales services and support like updates etc. Trying to have a share of smartphone business? - Dream on if they continue what they are doing now.

                            Sony's, Asus', Dell's, HP's, etc. high end products are waaaaaay out of Lenovo's/Acer's league. Basically, Lenovo and Acer make cheap, low quality stuff.

Sony makes best android phones with great support (unlike Samsung). Each company produces some flagship product, some mid and some value line. Except Apple which asks top dollar for utter garbage.

                                Even if companies such as Lenovo and Acer claim to also have some high-end products, these are way inferior to mid-range Asus, Dell, HP, Sony, etc. products.
