Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and HTC HD2 knock on T-Mobile door

19 December, 2009
Two Snapdragon-powered phones with large touchscreens are taking the first steps to the pockets of T-Mobile US consumers. Yep, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 passed through FCC testing and it and HTC HD2...

My T-mobile adr didn't really react when I asked him about the HD2 but when I mentioned the X10 coming he just smiled at me than told me he knows nothing that's the same response I got from him just before the TP2 was announced

Don't tell me that since I have been here with a Microsoft Pocket PC phone era. I dare say XDA.

I now say HD2 is a yes, and also X10 a yes with Googles support.

Val, 22 Dec 2009 When you buy an unlocked phone on internet you are not pro... moreAlthough the news did not specifically mention that the HTC HD2 had passed the US 3G test, I would assume that it implies that T-Mobile would offer the phone that would be compatible with its 3G network.

Otherwise, the HTC HD2 will be definitely a bad deal like you've said. X10 will then be a better deal, but there is no release date. So my guess is that the Nexus is a more dependable phone during the 1st quarter of 2010.

When you buy an unlocked phone on internet you are not protected in case it breaks. I had two faulty Samsung phones bough on Ebay and guess what, I couldn`t have them fixed with anybody. So rule number one-buy a phone in a domestic retailer with a USA warranty.

Second, HTC HD2 does not support T-mobile 3G so its web browser will be lame and almost useless compared to one of X10, which supports 1700Ghz of T-mobile. In this regard the choice of a phone at T-mobile boils down to 2-3 phones only. X10, Nokia N900 and maybe Blackberry 9700 and Samsung Behold 2. I`m currently choosing between first two. X10 means super polished user interface, but no movies. N900-the best web browser buy lacks applications and the screen is resistive not capacitive. What a dilemma!

I shall rule both the set and after that I will switch back to my old nordic walky-talky. Samsung is my next target.

No one cares about camera calls ANYWHERE.

No mature adults anyway. These phones aren't meant for kids.

Thank god these high end manufacturers are canning such useless trinkets and replacing them with more useful features such as proximity sensors.
