From three years ago you say?

With a 600MHz ARM 8 processor, 256MB RAM and PowerVR graphics, hey doesn't the N900 have a 600MHz ARM 8 processor, 256MB RAM and PowerVR graphics?

Why are you recommending a Nokia phone with three year old specs then?

Anonymous, 22 Dec 2009So why are you here posting on a story about Vodafone UK? ... moreI really don't know cause i have access to Wi-fi all the time, haven't checked in years. Almost all people here actually carry those mini 7-8 inch laptops in the bag or purses for heavy duty surfing while on the run. I pay like 15 pounds(converted from crowns)a month and get Turbo 3G Wireless 10mb/s download speed with USB receiver which looks exactly like mini-usb harddrive.

You don't say that i have to be british to comment on something i have knowledge about? I do go to britain like 8-9 times a year and have lived there, so i have some knowledge about that stuff. I was actually commenting more on "behalf" of all my cousins and relatives living in England.

C'mon u Gunners!!! This is our year!

Not everyone has the luxury of state subsidised WiFi everywhere in the main cities where almost everyone lives.

So what's the roaming rates like on your Swedish SIM?

Anonymous, 22 Dec 2009What are you going to do with it after you buy it outright ... moreListen dude, I live in Hi-tech Industrial Society. Here in Sweden we have public Wi-fi access for free everywhere and every corner you can find, streets, shops, public transportation, restaurants and even in public toilets, dataplans are not really that popular here if you don't live as tree cutter in the woods.

On top of that i pay 8 pounds (converted from Crowns) a month and can make unlimited calls, texts and mms to the whole population on Sweden, at least the ones that are on Telia, Tele2 or Telenor networks, whick is like 90% of Sweden.

I guess it makes mor sense buying it in the UK with a plan cause the Opreators there skin you as good as they can, i know, i was working in Leeds forn over 5 years. And by the way, you don't personally really know what kinda od traffic is included in those IPhone tarrifs, but i sure as hell ain't gonn be using 45 or 75 pounds a month on celluar traffic unless you are on the phone calling goverment and council pay numbers all the long.

You paid $99 for unlimited ONLY IF you got the $14.95 data bundle on top which gives you 1.5GB data.

              http://personal.optus.com.au/web/ocaportal.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Template_woRHS&FP=/personal/mobile/iphone3G&site=personal

              Then there's no tethering:-

This plan includes 1.5GB of data to access services on Optus Zoo, as well as browsing the Internet from your mobile. If you exceed the included monthly data allowance, excess usage will be charged at $0.35 per MB or part thereof. Included data on your 'yes' Timeless iPhone plan is not available when the iPhone is used as a tethered modem, unless you have selected iPhone as Modem.

How much will you spend on calls and data over the same time period?

It all depends on how you look at it subsidised often works out the best, especially if you are going to spend that much on usage anyway.

That is expensive. Even if you get it for "free" you will end up paying more that 1000 pounds on the 45£ a month tariff and 1800 pounds on the 75£ a month tariff, that is way to much when u cn get a unlocked one for around 500 pounds on Ebay.

Anonymous, 21 Dec 2009y the hell so happy for vodafon get the iphone? any cheaper... moreDepends where you live and how well the network operator serves you.

Where I live, the network "3" has the exclusive offer on iphone, though same as those at various stores, all phones are unlocked.

Experience was "ok" until few weeks ago when my wife suspected her over a year old iphone's battery is dying, which should be covered under the extended warranty she paid US$70, the "3" service center refused to service her phone as they claimed there is a slight crack. The CS suggested we pay US$220 for a "new" 3GS 16GB.

We were very angry and decided to try again with Apple's own service center, which took in the phone and practically replaced it with a refurbished unit.

Once the iphone contract is up with "3", we'll probably say goodbye...
