I am afraid Xiaomi has already given up on Mi3, great phone but outdated Android version. I do not expect that there will be an upgrade for it.

This time they should try to give a full android experience to the users (like OnePlus 2 & Moto X) rather providing their on modifications, which help them also and boost their sales.

MIUI 7 will reach Mi3 & Mi4 by end of 2016 i supposed, Xiaomi really fast in announcement but very slow in seeding the UI firmware, Mi3 & Mi4 till date still running in Kit Kat... Zzzzz.
