Anonymous, 22 Dec 20091 GHz CPU isn't everything, the Snapdragon lacks a GRAPHICS... more"1 GHz CPU isn't everything, the Snapdragon lacks a GRAPHICS CARD!!! How many times have this already been said? 600MHz + GPU (like N900, Omnia HD) >>>>>>>>>> 1GHz + NO gpu (like HTC HD2 and Google stuff)"

Snapdragon is an SOC (system on a chip). It has both the CPU AND an integrated graphics subsystem.

    http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/7/6/qualcomms-snapdragon-chip-more-powerful-than-nintendo-wii.aspx
"But the real beast is the integrated graphics subsystem. Snapdragon comes with a 3D processor capable of outputting 80 million triangles/sec and 500 million pixels/sec. Pixel Fillrate of 500M pixel/sec is on the levels of GeForce 6200, but texture fillrate is still in Riva TNT territory. Given the specifications of ATI Hollywood GPU inside the Nintendo Wii console [486.000 Pixels/sec - Hollywood has 4 Pixel Pipelines, but there are only 2 ROP units inside its eDRAM], we see that that Qualcomm's Snapdragon actually packs more 3D punch that the best selling gaming console on the market."

Going by those numbers,I don't think Snappy's gonna have much trouble at handling 3D tasks at all depending on apps of course.

Anonymous, 22 Dec 2009Through tests, it has been shown that the HD2 is equally as... moreFull HD doesn't have to be 8MP. To keep costs down, companies can 'preferabbly' use just 3MP active modules. It will save them money. But they don't. Why? Because the higher it is, the better people seem to think, and thus they buy, which is better profit-wise than using 3MP modules. Just a marketing strategy in the end.

Remember that full HD is 1920x1080. That is slightly higher than a 2MP, so a 3MP at least should capture fullHD without problems.

Likewise with CPUs. The higher the clock speed, the better. We all know the CPU can process graphics but at the price of performance (ie, lags). Having a dedicated GPU is 'preferabbly' better.
In this case though, these phones are business phones. They ain't designed like the iPhone for social use and to play games with friends, watch HD videos and the whatnots.

So all I'm trying to say is...
In the case of CPUs, it all comes down to what you need to use the device in question for. A 1GHz CPU in a mobile device is certainly more than enough for business people, and for business people only. The Nexus was designed for them, and not for people who want to get games and full HD (ie, full-time leisure use) out of it. End of story.

Through tests, it has been shown that the HD2 is equally as good in non-HD video playback as the Omnia II. And as far as HD video playback, the Omnia II cannot even perform adequately. Furthermore, HD video playback is good with an HD video recorder (e.g. 8MP camera preferably).

But in term of regular applications, the HD2 1GHz by far exceeds the Omnia II in overall speed. Hours of usage have not been dropped with a bigger capacitive screen. Not a bad deal, if you obliged yourself to save a little to be locked in with a 2-year contract with a US mobile phone carrier.

T-mobile has been mostly cost/effective with the use of a SIM card.

When it comes to processors, flexibility is the key - and having only ONE processor certainly doesn't help much, or does it? What do you think yourself?

No offence dude, but I'm just tired of the MHz counting. More MHz (just like MP) doesn't mean it's better!!!

You will have to wait for a G1 replacement. Maybe with HTC but not with T-mobile for now. That's just the cycle now.

With a 2-year contract lock, 1GHz processing power with capacitive touchscreen is a good deal, either with Googles or with Microsoft.

In term of aesthetics, I think Googles will probably offer it in different colors for individualists.

Materialistically, do you want it in real Gold or real silver for the cover of the phone.

Personally, I see more than one button "in the middle". The middle will be exactly where the screen is at "in the middle". Look at the top of your middle to see more buttons.

Is not this part of life? How can you then write?
