The design process of the Vertu Aster is as beautiful as it is pricy

06 August, 2015
Working in London, drawing inspiration from luxury watches, trying out expensive materials and a lot of manual labor is how a Vertu is born. It's easier to show than describe so the company put together a two minute video of how Vertu Aster Summer Collection 2015 is made.

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2015Man I don't get it... They put such effort into every littl... moreI agree. It's a classy phone, and Android isn't a classy OS, although they did skin it a little. It made more sense when Vertu was running Symbian (which is an European OS more-less) even though the specs were silly, it was like having a classic old-timer car. It was a statement. Now... I don't know. Not bad but there's something missing when you realize there's Android in it. Like, they have those old WW2 bunkers converted into data centers where they keep their users' data safe, but they put the least secure OS in their phones?

Vertu Aster is so beautiful. Only the high class people are able to appreciate all the little detail of this phone and understand it. Yes, it is android on top but with a Concierge service apps that only the wealthy can use. It main attraction is its high quality material that not even used in branded flagship phones these day. Titanium metal and calf skin leather with rubies and diamonds decoration. Gold sim slot with laser engraved signiture of the maker of the phone. It just like buying a grade A+++ meat. Nothing can beat them.

AnonD-416878, 06 Aug 2015I honestly don't see the point in Vertu phones... They don... morethe phone is a statement of wealth and maybe power. you can do the same things with a skoda that you can with a Ferrari/Lambo (especially on real life scenarios, not talking about races and sht) but ppl look a little bit different when they get out of one of those :P.
if you see a man using something like this, you will know he has a lot of money (which translates into power most of the time)
if you see a woman using it...you would probably not approach her in the first place (unless you can provide better that is :> )

May not be for everyone's tastes but still better than a $20,000 iphone CASE

I honestly don't see the point in Vertu phones... They don't really look that nice, they are often not quite up to scratch in the spec department. Sure they are not mass produced like other phones, but other than bragging rights I cannot see the point? I'd rather just upgrade more often and remain a power-user.

                      Did the phone lag between 1:10 - 1:15 ?
I hope that is from the video and not the real performance.

Man I don't get it... They put such effort into every little detail, it's hand crafted and everything is designed to communicate luxury. And then they put Android on it.

                            quite beautiful...but for a yr 2010 phone.
too heavy and thick looking. sort of overcrowded elements design also
