Sony Xperia M5 Hybrid AF tested, has quick reflexes

12 August, 2015
The Sony Xperia M5 is the first in its family to get Phase Detection autofocus as part of the Hybrid AF feature (a combination of traditional contrast AF and Phase Detection AF). The company promises an autofocus lock in just 250 milliseconds thanks to this new feature.

Yeah the Xperia M5 is not the first phone to use phase detection, but its sensor has more PDAF points (192 AF points spread accros the entire frame) than most phones like S5, S6 or iPhone.
So it will be better for autofocus tracking wich really important if you trying to take pictures or videos of moving subject.

                          Hybrid as f***

look nice, but knowing Sony they totally mess up software and algorithms.
The same was before, before launch with testing software everything look pretty good, and after everyone get their phones... totally mess, FC after using effects because of heat, weird working HDR, lack of details, HUGE compression etc etc...
