40% faster for 1 minute, then throttles down slower than a Snapdragon 400 due to overheating.

The 805 is still the best Soc out there, funny because the Nexus 6 and Note 4 will still be better than anything else out this year.

And comparing Android to Windows 10 is like comparing Kia Ceed to Lamborghini Aventador! All I'm saying is that Android should run smoothly and efficiently on 2 core mid range processor with 1GB of ram as it is a very simple OS in general!

Please do not compare A8X with Exynos 7420 or SD 810. You should compare A8 with Exynos 7420 or SD810. A8X should be compared with Tegra K1/X1.

Baby Bird, 12 Aug 2015What purpose? Name at least one.On why they make 8 cores cpu and not just settle with 2 cores like apple? Oh and obviously exynos wipe the floor apple's A8. And if you thought that android can't use more that 2 cores effectively than you are more clueless than what I thought.

JD, 12 Aug 2015Did they also mentioned during anouncement what sort of pho... moreYou dont understand. new processor is about power efficiency not just performance boost, the efficiency need to keep increase, not just useless increase in screen resolution. Do you realized that you just complain about part of phone tech that matter most? Its efficiency.

It looks like no one here understand what IPC is, and why it's the most important and perhaps the ONLY performance metric and why the A8X SoC wipes floor with 8 cores MediaTek/4 cores Qualcomm chips. You cannot increase the size of Exynos, MTK or SnapDragon chips, nor you can increase their frequency because they are already running at *the top* of their TDP package. Every SoC out there already throttles like crazy, and you propose that? LMAO.

You may hate Apple as much as you want but their ARM cores are unrivaled. They run at mere 1.4GHz, yet they execute the code you throw at them up to *two times* faster than the competition which boasts a ridiculous number of useless cores. Most apps out there hardly use more than two cores, and the A8X SoC is more than enough. In fact, iOS running on three cores feels light and extremely fast (I've never seen it lag) vs Android running on 8 cores where up to six of them are sitting doing nothing.

Go visit Geekbench 3 and view single core A8X scores vs SnapDragon 810/Exynos 7420 scores. Apple is in its own league in regard to IPC/performance per core.

Not the number of cores, not the chip frequency, not the chip physical size.

P.S. I'm an owner of Google Nexus 5. I've never owned a single Apple device, nor I intend to.

Probably not! Because there are NO apps for phone/tablets that will need that kind of power! Nooo,,,,, actually there are.... they called Benchmark apps... thats it..... So next time if someone ask "What you can do with all this power" answer will be only one! "I need it for a benchmark apps" because nothing else will need desktop class innards on the phone.... Unlesssssss..... yes.. there is something else..... it's relatively simple OS that need this kind of resources to run apps like Facebook, Tweeter etc. It's called,,,,,, Android!
