No another iphone ki, 06 Jan 2010Ok true But on the grand scales of sales how many will ... moreWhat's a business phone??? Checking your email on the go, iPhone does that. Viewing/editing office documents, iPhone does that.
Its basically doing all at the same time that matters.
And its not restricted to business.

And what about radio. I think in a city everybody should keep one in their pockets.
Camera, as well, (yes iPhone has one) but it is another useful functionality in your pocket. So is Satellite Navigation.

Basically its about convergence of technologies, all in one device.
So you don't need to carry multiple devices.
Apple knew it when they designed iPhone.

Now think of taking a picture when you are reading a webpage or an office document (business) or a video (multimedia).
Through multitasking you can minimise the open application without shutting it down completely. So now once you have taken the picture you can CONTINUE what you were doing without starting all over again.
      This is called as MULTITASKING.

The reason we are comparing it to the IPhone is that the IPhone is a best seller in the touchscreen/smartphone market.

In the real world, sales at a profit are everything !

This phone has 6 months to make an impact. Thats when the IPhone 4 comes out.

This phone is far too over rated, its just another android phone with a newer version of the os. The SE X10 is a better phone and if android 2.1 is available on it i will pick it over the nexus one any day. Also googles main selling point is "when internet meets phone" if people are looking for a phone with good internet capabilities then the n900 is a million times better, its like using the internet on your pc theres no page that it cannot open. Any way im not saying this is a bad phone its actually an amazing phone but i would still go for the X10 or N900.

If its anything like the iphone (stats fom google search) about 3% not hugh amounts.

If you want a business phone you get a Blackberry simple as

As is the ability to easily save or attach documents to emails.

This is where i feel the iPhone is a big let down and will be resigned to the recycling website like it's 2G brother before it.

The main thing is from my point of view is that although the Nexus is way ahead of the I-phone and many other handsets in terms of the hardware and technology.

Will it beat the I-phone no in simple terms.

Phones have had hundreds of different things crammed onto them over the years. but in simple terms the vast majority of people still only do the same following things on them.

Make calls, Text, Take stupid pics of random stuff, email and play games oh and browse and sat Nav if there feeling special.

Does any of this require multitasking or a 1gig processor no

The thing is the iphone does all the above easily and is more then capable tec wise, oh and of course its a fashion item and looks 100 times better then anything else to come out even the Nexus.

99% percent of people all though a shame I admit are not Tec geeks and so only look at the name and the hype oh and how shiny it is.

To this the Google phone won’t stand a chance

Shame though as it’s a great piece of kit

                                  X10

Why is the HD2 not on your list? :( If I had to choose it would be: HD2, N1 or X10. That Nokia is way to big! I can really recomend the HD2 even with WM6.5. You are in the Sence UI most of the time. Plus believe me, MicroSoft is coming back. Dont ask how I know.. and even at this moment, it is awesome. Sometimes the OS is a little not finger friendly.. but thats it.

See it as a iPhone that is much better and is 'jailbroken' by nature. You can do so much with it.. IT'S AWESOME!

PS: good point in your post, the iPhone OS looks like its designed for kids!

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2010Its simple when it comes to the Nexus verses the iphone ... moreBecause of all the iPhone fanatics im now against the iPhone. Not that this is your fault alone..

I have had an ipod touch for a good six months which i used all day. Safari is indeed the best browser overall, though there are others. For example I am using Opera 9.7 and Skyfire (flash support) and they are working great. I am typing this on Opera 10 beta 2 which is even more awesome. So not that much a diffference. Plus when I go on the web I download almost any file I see (like a real PC), lets not talk about that on the iPhone..

My HD2 and also the Nexus 1 are in big advantage over the iPhone also because they have an 1GHz processor (believe me my HD2 can run Tekken3, dont even try that on your stupid iToy), they have better RAM/ROM (better multitasking.. o wait, the iToy cant even do that), bigger screens, better and more fun UI... the list goes on.

The iPhone has thelockscreen, and all your apps. Thats it. Look at other homescreens and you will see much more info and fun things like animations. The ONLY things I would want from the iPhone OS are the AppStore and the Safaribrowser.

All you blind Apple/iPhone fans need to be more open and look beyond that apple. Sad is I know many people in RL that are already hit by the dark apple-lord. And when they see my HD2 they all start crying LOL xD

Can't a new phone be released without being compared with the iPhone? I mean iPhone... come on.

And about Nexus One, Google should have had a global release for such an amazing phone... Isn't their production line capable of handling the demand. HTC ???
And whats with that weird name "Nexus".
                                      Its weirder than "Google".

Yep I can, hand on heart, say that to me the iPhone is RUBBISH!!!!!!

                                        Dropped calls
Not the fastest UI in the world
                                        UI designed for kids

Yes I know x Amount more apps than Android, but I ask, how many pull my finger and i'll fart apps do you really need. If i want a beer I'll buy a real one not a fake one.

                                        No expandable memory :-(
                                        No replaceable battery :-(
                                        Can't operate wearing gloves lol

Went through the apps on my iPhone the other night and out of all the ones I've downloaded over the years there are about 4 that have remained on the phone and in use, apart from the ones from Cydia & Rock but Apple don't like those.

Which leads me on to another issue. If i'm spending that sort of money on a phone I want to be able to do what ever I want on it, I bought it, it's mine, not what ever some pen pusher in CA wants me to do one it.

I don't care if my next phone is the latest iPhone killer or not as long as it does what I want. Just wish I had never been sucked into the iPhone frenzy at the start.

So now i have to decide

                                        N900
                                        Nexus
                                        X10

At the moment the N900 is just ahead of the Nexus due to it's 32Gb onboard memory and further 16Gb available. Also as someone has previously said, what's up with the trackball, why does it have to stick out so far??????

                                        Sorry Rant Over.
