brynn, 11 Jan 2010Read this its on another forum (AAS) and am glad the chap g... moreUnfortunately, people are too desperate to have the latest and greatest. One should understand that these companies stand to gain a profit, and the companies don't have the customer's best interest in mind (despite what their support tells you). As a result, they try and get their latest and greatest phones out as fast as possible (SE being the fastest of them all and alas, their line of problems). Yes, they do test their phones before release but only the basics.

So basically, you should wait at least 4 or 5 months before buying the phone you have in mind - it will at least give the phone time to iron out the bugs and what not (and let you read user reviews from people who are stupid enough to buy the greatest and latest as soon as it hits the market. Those who do stand to lose the most when something (very likely) goes wrong - just have some patience, and acknowledge the fact that nothing in the electronics world is the latest and greatest; it is always evolving)

Why don't you just get the screen/phone repaired through the warranty? It was released in May 2009 so you must have bought it even later meaning you have warranty remaining.

I have read the report a few times now and its reads as if people dont complain then we dont care attitude..Most put up with it and very few people will go all the way with petitions..These are very expensive items as well and features should work especially when they show of about its ability only to be third rate,,,for example super video recording but its juddery, choppy, poor 3gp format or poor audio..It seems as if firms lost the plot after 2005..

samsungs excuses were very lame.. and not truthfull.. no escuse for not having voice dialing.. the real scoop is they are too cheap to pay for the licensinge..(I heard)

as for video dropped frames is not the worse issue.. the worse is that the audio it records with videos is unuseable.. especially during concerts etc.. never had this issue with any nokia phones.

voip.. same issue. you pay 700. for a phone you expect it have voip capability.

Yeah its good to see updates for a phone i spent $705 USD on but too bad i cant use the piece of shit anymore because the screen has a dead spot where i can press 4,5 and 6 an y,h, and n while im texting. Its just an expensive paperweight at this point and now im using the motorola cliq.

Every company has to learn the importance of user feedback.
Samsung simply chose the hard way.

Read this its on another forum (AAS) and am glad the chap got a reply..We continually put up with shoddy products throughout the mobile world..Why,,Why,,Why do they not test mobiles before release ive put this time and time again that people would gladly test the mobiles for free reporting back niggles and bugs..Its not as if most things are brand new,,most of the mobiles released are a rehash of an old mobile..I wonder what x10 will bring with it,,if its released??I put this as an example cause its highly anticipated..

Nice one Samsung, its nice to see a company the size of Samsung taking notice of what the average joe user thinks about their phones and trying to make them what the people want from them! Looking forward to hearing more on this!

Other phone manufacturers could certainly take a leaf out of Samsungs book! I think the big manufacturers should get their R&D teams to read through GSM Arena forums when designing phones!
