And all because 2K or QHD is not as common a native display resolution on TV's as HD, FHD, or UHD

Shamoy, 31 Aug 2015Sony doesn't license their Quantum Dot tech from QD vision.... moreI know that Sony have their own Quantum Dot tech, but the triluminos display is actually a licensed technology from QD vision. Samsung also licensed their quantum dot tech from Nanosys film for their SUHD-TV line ups.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2015Uh, did somebody forgot 4K video/movie file sizes are much ... more1080p is perfectly in scale with 4K so if you watch 1080p on a 4K screen, it will be absolutely fine and with Sony's upscaling engine, it should be even better.

If the 5"5 is correct I'm bummed (as a Sony Ultra owner)... Why a C5 6" and not a Z5 6"? 6" has proven to sell soundly.
I know it seems too large for some but I hope the purported 5"5 is wrong.

I know this will be too much for the battery, but the display should be IPS-Neo (manufactured by JDI), 4k X1-Reality Pro with the familiar Triluminos (aka Quantum dot tech licensed from QD vision).

According to DCI, 4K simply means that there are at least 4000 pixels in the long direction. If the Z5 display has 3840 pixels in the long direction, it cannot be termed 4K because 3840 is less than 4000. It is rather called a UHD display.

In terms of total pixels, 4K is closest to four times an HD (720p) display. However, it is not at all related to total number of pixels. According to DCI, 4K simply means that there are at least 4000 pixels in the long direction. If the Z5 display has 3840 pixels in the long direction, it cannot be termed 4K because 3840 is less than 4000. It is rather called a UHD display.
