I have p1, and all I can say is that for that money you can't buy better phone. Battery is great, phone is quick, i have upgraded it to 6.0.1 android and it flies...my friend have S5 and S6 and their phones can't compete with this one, not to mention how much expensive they are. Phone is brilliant

        vibe p1 battery has issues
stays stuck at 100% and dies at 20-25%
tried multiple options - factory reset, did not s/w update & replaced the phone as well.
Same problems. Appear to be a software issues.
Also tried battery cycling thrice as lenovo website recommends for Li-Ion batteries.

Something needs to be done about this...

I just hope this 5000mah really do the job with more than 17 hours wifi , & keep low GPS power consumtion. As i using the A5000 its give me a very positive battery life for GPS more than 2-3 hours drive with just average 7-8% per hour. compare my A7 615 , its nearly 38% for an hour drive. so crazy for Samsung tuning.

You can improve battery life quite considerably from day 1 of using your phone.

The most common mistakes made is using a non genuine charger and lead. this can cause batteries to swell and go faulty as you are not putting in the correct current into the phone, granted most phones have good circuits to accept a wider variety of chargers without issue, but putting in a 3.6A charger into a phone that should only take 1.3A is not normally good for the phone, especially if the phone battery is so flat the phone cant start up (as these circuits need the phone to power on to work, so it will try to use all 3.6A before the phone powers up to stop it).

The 2nd is not fully charging and discharging the battery for the first several uses, this is the most important thing to do with a new battery. If you fully charge then recharge it when its at 50% the battery will never work as intended and give you less total power between charges (so instead of the battery being 3000mah, if you don't fully discharge and then charge you may only end up with 2700mah as a full charge).

also on the part of swelling batteries, the biggest cause is also fluff in the usb port, as this will absorb moisture from the air and get damp, then when you put in your charger you run the risk of shorts (and possible melting of the port and causing fires). Its a good idea to keep an old toothbrush and clean out the usb port every few weeks.

AnonD-407326, 28 Aug 2015Why would you use your phone as little as possible? Just do... moreUsing your phone for GPS navigation in your car during summer is one scenario when the battery will heat up too much. And trickle charge doesn't give you more full charge/discharge cycles. If the battery gives you 10h OST a day, but instead you put it on charge at 50% after 5 hours and then you are at 50% at the end on the day, it's still one cycle. Unless, of course, you use it on charger (But then it could heat up a little more, hence the swelling problem pops up again), but then what's the point of having a big battery anyway?

My only concern is although it's probably just semi relevant is when Lenovo Mobile gets absorbed into Motorola as announced this week and could be anywhere between now till end of next month. I'm liking this phone very much but the consolidation soon will definitely affect its upcoming firmware + software update rollout plans.

5-amp hour battery in a phone like this should give you 10-12 hours of screen on time without a problem. Swelling really isn't much of an issue with newer batteries, unless they've been abused. Using it in direct sunlight for long periods of time so your phone heats up to extreme temps will cause this. I think everyone is aware of this risk.

Batteries have cycles+shef life. 5000mah is good for a day of heavy usage, so if you're a heavy user, that's 350+ cycles a year. Just enaugh for it to start deteriorating.

Not to mention batteries tend to swell (Even with "advanced battery care").
