Can you please let me know how I create a new SMS message and how do I go for SMS retrevials on this phone. I have just purchased this phone N900 and a bit confused. Thanks

I am not understanding why Nokia has not provided fring and other major application for Nokia N900 in Ovi Store.

It will get me through the day unless I end up streaming music for a few hours, in which case I'll generally have to charge the phone before going to bed.

Well, you probably didn't understand my question as you are going about why I'm using Ubuntu. But FYI, Ubuntu doesn't need any kind of programming skills to use, it's just the best OS out there at the moment and that's why I'm using it, Mac or Windows doesn't come to even close.
But back to my question, doesn't anyone else find it's a bit odd that Nokia makes a Linux phone and then it doesn't actually work in Linux as Ovi Suite doesn't support Linux?!?

The phone is still extremely slow in phone book if one has more than 1000 entries even compared to a E71 I used before.
It has started to drop calls even if the signal is full and both wifi and gprs are off. NOKIA PLEASE A REAL SOFTWARE UPDATE IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
Don't get me wrong, this still is a wonderful phone and there is nothing on the market I would consider instead.

but i'll test the speed and everything for the N900 and i'll post the link :D it will be thursday when i post some vids :D
