for the time being, i don't see why people are so excited about a BB. yes it is a very good email device, but that is it. and all the phone from the same series doesn't seem to have a lot of different, maybe some minor upgrades

my friend bought one from dubai and its working so good and has very nice details inside , in addition to the user interface and the full qwerty keyboard . you can download free themes and some free apps from the blackberry appworld . but there is one problem about the app world which is most of the apps are really expensive in comparision with the appstore(apple itunes store).
thank you ..... and hope you enjoy buying it

I've got the Curve 8900 which I love, and its also my first Blackberry. I do hate the trackball though. I think that a trackpad would be a great upgrade, also do something about the GPS receiver and the 3G would be nice too.

The design seems not evolve but don't forget :
Rim Os and solutions are in the communication more efficient than any others manufacters.
Headset evolve but this HS have a long life battery better than the others ones and the made quality is really appreciate
App world has realy useful applications than others, no fake applis only to make advertising actions....

This device just need 3 things to be perfect:
1- Support 3G
2- Camera 5 mega pixel with xenon flash
3- Live TV DVB-H like Nokia N96

RIM in general needs to go back to the drawing board & stir up their think tank alittle. C'mon, Android is up to 2.1, Apple's OS seems to be kick-ass, even any Symbian OS is still easier on the eyes than RIM's stuff.
I know RIM is meant to be business-oriented, but I don't want to see their products being equivalent to car fleet sales in the cell phone industry.
There currently is plenty of webpage support for blackberries (forums, tutorials, replacement parts, etc) & a large # of personal supporters who really WANT to stay with RIM for its simplcity (including myself). However, its very difficult to stay focused looking at our phones when SO much noise is being made from the other OSes, that it becomes hard NOT to take a look & see who else is offering what. It becomes difficult to ignore the larger amount of features that could be had at the same price of the average monthly cell phone bill.
With that being said, i love my 8900, i enjoy texting/emailing, but alot of features courtesy of BB servers & sluggish processors (apps & internet) feel so clunky to use. Some improvements all around could be made there (HSDPA 7.2 Mbps anyone?). How about the camera? It could use some improvements as well (including more camera options to explore). What about a decent framerate for video recording? The 2.5 inch screen is a good start to review what was recorded.
Combine a few good ideas with a better processor &, I think, RIM could start making its own noise.

Hahaha....lucky me!
a few days ago I've release my 8900 at higher price, than I buy Onyx.
If 8910 commercial has been release, it will make 8900 price drop!
Btw trackpad....wow amazing, smooth and gentle move......
Thanx RIM

There would have to be some major differences for someone to choose this handset over the already impressive 9700
