LG's new SmartThinQ Sensor makes traditional home appliances smart

LG has developed a gadget that, when attached to traditional home appliances, helps you keep track of as well control them remotely. Dubbed SmartThinQ Sensor, the device will be showcased at the upcoming IFA event in Berlin next week.

    Interesting idea. I like it!
    But will wait and see how this pans out in the real world usage (by others). ;)

      Is this for real? Amazon did the same thing before which turns out to be an April Fool device. I don't trust this 'attached to anything and make it smart' device.

          Interesting transition device.
          I wonder how many years it will be before any electronic device is 'smart' in the sense that it connects to something.
          e.g. Any smoke detector ought to be able to send BT-message and a mail through WiFi, and if no reaction within a few minutes call 911...
