13 January, 2010
Samsung have stuffed more memory in a tiny package than seemed possible a few years ago and announced their 32GB microSD cards. For integrated memory, they are readying chips with...

I guess to enable mobile phones to run longer hours are to make them run lower Voltage. Remember not quite long ago Mobile using 11.8 and then 7.2 Volts or so and they don't even last that long. Now are at 3.6 Volts and last pretty good to most. May be they should consider 0.2 or 0.5 Volt

Lol just think about it... if you knew the answer you should be electronics engineer.. why discuss what's beyond our understanding? Things are the way genious decide to be... there's always a reason and that reason belongs to their intelect... we may suggest, but they are the ones who make it possible..

Sony Ericsson equipments pack Li-Poly (all of them) and in most of them you have excellent autonomy. Samsung is pretty much like every other brands.. they have models with very bad battery life (samsung S5600) and others with great battery life (samsung S5230)

ryk, 14 Jan 2010Stupid you... In-built means fixed. Removable means many. S... more2TB should be the maximum of this new standard... just don't expect it that soon =) I guess their priority right now in the memory world should be SSD hard-drives; they must make it more afordable; but ofc that one will lead to another, it's the same tech I guess

O.k a good idea from Samsung ,put how can these work on there mobiles when the batteries they put on there mobiles are so weak,so all you will be doing is charging your mobile everytime the memory card as drained the phone out,Samsung got to change there mobiles to be able to accept these cards but i can"t see that happening, they do not realise there phones are expensive to buy an run nowdays

We've gotta be sincere...they're leading the way in electronics.. look at their technology, always pushing things forward...: patent from LCD's crystal (liquid crystal or whatever) belongs to them such as SSD hard drives, that will for sure in time replace all of our outdated hard drives.. no more plate written data; and there's probably a lot more leading tech patented by them which I truly dunno.. I'm no fan from any brand, I just see the obvious... they know how to pack things in slim bodys, unlikely (comes to mind) Nokia that needs 2x the room to place similar specs... just say thanks to SAMSUNG because they make it possible for you to have in your N900 and iPhone to have 32gb internal and also expandable memory!

btw iphone sucks, 2 years ago, it was nice because it had a great interface, but now competitors are catching up, and besides other manufacturers have the advantage of actually improving their products from time to time, unlike apple, which is still using HVGA and 3MPx and no amoled and no multitasking and no flash, and no bluetooth, file manager, decent speakers, and no haptiks. Therefore, soon iphone will die, and I will celebrate.

^This is 100% true, I like this person. iPhone is really a very simple phone, with a very simple UI, for very simple people that do not understand how to use a REAL SMARTPHONE. iPhone was the best, now it is not anymore. Apple HAS to make some BIG changes, or else they are going to lose hard.

But enough about that phone. Please.

Dee, 14 Jan 2010Yeah, keep on making bigger memory! Memory cards are so che... moreIts to reduce production costs as they make millions of units and by adding memory it can make a big difference to them, they already try to use the minimum in everything like cheaper materials just enough to stratify you to keep costs down.

But its not that much of a problem as most manufacturers are standardizing their card slots so for consumers we can afford reasonably priced mass memory cards

Yeah, keep on making bigger memory! Memory cards are so cheap now a day but if we look at the in-built memory in digital camera...why do they make it so less? 32MB ?, 16MB? 8MB? Why do they make so less memory onboard?

So instead of being stuck with a 32 or 64 GB you can have multiple 32 Gb external cards thus unlimited memory (for your device cause your brain doesn't has a supporting slot).
And higher the memory, lesser the no. of cards to carry.

And about the new standard, from 32 GB straight to 2 TB. What a jump.

having 2tb in a chip is not just like a hard disk, it is much better, because, it wastes less space, less electricity, and does not fragment, so probably it will replace hard disks completely, however limiting technology to 2TB is nit ideal imo, as soon in our laptops were gonna want more than 2TB for sure, and then they will have to develop SDXXXC which will support 32TB. of course eventually even those will be outdated.
