PaxDroid, 01 Sep 2015No one is stupid, only different opinions or likings. The c... moreTBH, I know I sounds like a A**hole by saying something like that. But, I just can't help it! First of all, since more and more smartphone can now support SD card up to 128GB nowadays, and if the phone maker aren't a a**hole itself and give people the SD card slot(also Android must allow to store everything on SD card like how Windows phone does). There is absolutely no need of this "cloud" phone( unless it is for other purpose, like work related kind of stuff). 2, even if one's really need cloud storage. Well, once again there're plenty of cloud storage app out there. Just how much more do you need?( I got a 10TB, yeah 10TB cloud storage from a Chinese app, obviously.) 3, even the apps that I mentioned it. There's still tons of people has no idea about it, and also not mention that so many many smartphone users simply don't know how to manage their phone! ( the reason I say this is because I encounter so many people who they got their filled with so many pictures and videos and have no idea how to store then without use up all their phone's space!)

Now that's how you make a bold and funky yet good looking smartphone.! HTC and Sammy, learn something.
I think its time for HTC to hire back their previous designer.

Why a cloud based phone, when Android and iOS phones are all fully synced with every data in their phone? What is the difference?

" The OS will backup everything in the cloud - multimedia, apps, and data. "
Don't just jump directly to post comments without reading the article.

the tech nerd, 01 Sep 2015Please first understand and then say, it will delete data l... moreDid you even read the article? This Robin will also delete apps if there is no sufficient space for the new data. But the app icon will remain and it will turn to grey. When you need it then just tap to open it and it will instll from cloud. So that anonymous guy is somewhat right. Next time please read the article carefully.

I do not like this idea of OS deciding for me what to keep on the cloud. May be it works differently then I am perceiving however I feel more comfortable using combination of internal storage, SD card, and drop box having control over what goes where. There are many apps I have not used for months but were there on my phone when I actually needed them e.g. app to book a taxi or app to report minor accident.

I am sure a microSD card would be faster than a 4G connection, so why not add a SD card slot so that we can add a 128 GB SD card and don't have to worry about data connection when out in some remote place?

I play a mobile game that weighs in at just over 2GB.
Won't be getting this as playing 5 times in the month will destroy my data allowance.
Absolutely ridiculous.
Never have and never will use the cloud.
Unsecure.

When you pass a certain data limit, the carrier start throttling speed. And don't anyone to sit in their home to connect to WiFi always to download stuffs from so called 'cloud'. Well, I am also not interested at this Robin smartphone because I can easily get a 128 GB SD card or a 200 GB card and not have to worry about mobile data connection or any other 'always online' crap.

lol @robin smartphone. While the spec and the price is quite nice, the cloud option is laughable. When I can get 128 or 200 GB card easily, then why I will upload stuffs to cloud. And with data caps good luck. Even if you have no data caps the constant uploading-downloding will eat your battery quite fast. And if you are in area where signal reception is not good, then good luck retrieving your apps and other stuff. So in my opinion, it a good smartphone but their cloud stuff is not.
