If Z5 premium and Z5 compact have the same chipset, and Z5 only has 720p display, then Z5 compact must be the real beast in performance. Imagine putting a beast chipset on a low resolution display, the performance would be mind-blowing!

I... moreAs long as the battery is as good as the predecessor (2 day battery life), then having a 4k display is not a downside. Some people always say if it's 4k it must be a power hungry, but wait, Sony claims Z5 premium will give 2 days of battery life regardless of what s written on spec sheet. Let's wait for the battery test of GSMArena for this phone.

for testing that is really 4k make a 4k image that has one line of black and one line of white pixels alternatively. or simply make a black or red dot on center of it and check it by microscope.
but why and where and how we need 4K????

Nas, 07 Sep 2015Great phone by Sony, 11k screens are being worked on folks Yeah, Samsung 11k is not for smartphone, yet. It will be shown in 2017 by the way and most probably as a tv not a smartphone. Smartphone need to integrate 8k display by end of 2016 first before we see Samsung 11k display. Though, battery technology is not moving forward at all. Li-ion & Li-Po. Give us graphene and silicone base battery, Sony. You high tech Japanese company should be able to do it. Don't give shame to Japan.

It is true the original Z lags behind in sunlight legibility. But it is not a problem of sonys new display tech.amoled displays prior to 2013 did have better sunlight legibility than ips.but now the story is different. Plz use a sony ips phone before commenting.

If you want to see how the Adreno 430 might run on 4K, let's not forget that all of the phones with it can drive an external display - GSMArena has been running those off-screen tests in their benchmarks for ages now. Anyone with a 4K TV and a phone with SD810, plug it in and let us know if it throws a fit a or not.........
