On that size and pro orientation, even if pricier, even if 1+ year old, even if display resolution is only 2160*1440, I would go for Microsoft Surface Pro 3. Because every professional platform and application runs on Windows, because 128gb may not be enough for work, because 4-8gb Ram run better professional applications, because no ARM SoC dares to benchmark against an Intel Core i7 (even the mobile editions)

Noufal, 09 Sep 2015I remember the day Steve mocked the Stylus pen. This is not Steve's company . They do things in almost the opposite manner than how he would. It just happens to bear the same name. Many (bad) things can be said about Jobs, but shamelessly copying his arch-rivals is not one of them (stealing ideas from small firms was actually what it was more of his style).

First of all, ipad pro has a bigger screen. Second of all, tab S first gen was horribly slow for a premium tablet. Third, there's no pen available for Tab S. Tab S has a better screen resolution, but the super amoled is not good for productivity work. The only real competitor for the ipad pro is surface pro or the failed note pro from Samsung (two tablets aimed for productivity), and of course, the note pro doesn't exist and it's a much slower tablet compared to ipad pro and surface pro.

Funnily enough, reading through this reveal all my mind could think about was how this was a lost opportunity because of the ARM architecture and the lack of a full desktop OS like Ubuntu or Debian.
A keyboard case, really Apple?
A battery powered STYLUS? WTF Apple? At least use a magnetic resonance solution so we don't have to charge the damn thing.
Even a chinese Core M tablet ('Cube i7 Stylus' here's a review of it :

dear all.. stop this copy cat business.... its inevitable ... some company will base their creation on other company's creation and modify it so it doesnt infringe any intellectual properties. with a large display like that... a pen is needed .. oh.. wait they called it Pencil now so its not the same naming !!!! smart.. and innovative.. ;)
if technologies are limited to those who invented them, then only apple will have the rectangular shaped mobile phone !!! or ford motor company to have the cars with wheels.. tough luck other companies... get creative and make hoover carts :r
and more to that.. may be Apple paid to samsung for using the stylus technology.. who wold know for sure.... but the innovation might be relevant if the pencil is incorporating the newly introduced 3D touch!

So Apple is trying to copy and compete with the Surface Pro 3... And what they do is make an oversized iPad (being the iPad just a big iPhone 6) with a keyboard and a pencil so that it looks similar to the Surface Pro...
An expensive tablet with phone OS and phone CPU trying to compete with the Surface, which has a PC intel CPU, a real PC OS and all characteristics and feautres a PC and Windows 10 brings to the table... And all for similar price, Its like comparing a big iPhone 6 with a Mac.
What makes me sad is that all the efford Microsoft put on the Surface Pro to create a true tablet-pc will just be used by Apple so sell millions of big iPads that copy the Surface (but just on looking...)
