25 January, 2010
Motorola has recently acquired a taste for weird form factors - you've already seen the Motorola BACKFLIP, now get ready to meet the Motorola MOTOSPLIT. It runs on Android OS and strongly resembles the Nokia...

Bart @ KPN Belgium, 26 Jan 2010A funny thing I noticed: the article cites "Motorola h... moreweird? From the days of the "first" mobile phones like DynaTAC? Yeah, weird phones like MicroTAC, StarTAC, V3688, V3, are so "weird" because nobody else was able to make anything similar with such success.

Oh, I almost forgot the almighty brand "tried" to copy V3 and made the crappy N76...

    Wake up, guys at GSMarena.....!!!!

In case you haven't gathered the news yet, Nexus "2" is a Motorola, like a Milestone, but only has 256K of colors, instead of 16M.

A funny thing I noticed: the article cites "Motorola has recently acquired a taste for weird form factors"... recently? I have to say, I've always thought Moto form factors a bit weird, even years ago :-)

Why don't they just make it a slide out qwerty keyboard? That would be way much better IMO.

Now this is FAIL. Just imagine using it for a second. If you realize (from this picture), that the handset is about as big as iPhone, then imagine additional slide-out keyboards on both ends, - how long the device will become. Hot you will be holding it and typing with it? :D ... LOL ... This ir FAIL, Motorola. FAIL!

justbrowsing, 25 Jan 2010this is weird, it will be so hard to text when half of the ... moreI still have the Nokia E70. Fastest typeing I could ever do on a mobile. Nowdays I only use it with Fring for chat and call, but still using it.

Anyone thinks this set-up is hard to use, try it. Better than a QWERTY keyboard, where you can't place more than 3 fingers down anyway.

I just hope this keyboards will be as easy to use as is the E70. Of course, the market ratio for this modell will be small, as many are afraid to try it, but I can just hope, those buying it will be satisfied with the experiance.

A little competition here, a "wierd" idea there never hurts cell phone market.

Motorola new phone designs are getting too weird. They should look at Apple. Apple simple design in iPod and iPhone is real sample of success.

very innovative system for the 2 keyboards. anyway will be very hard to tip at a keyboard split in two.the keyboard must be in one piece, classic qwerty,or 3 characters per button, like classic mobiles.in rest it's waste of money and time

Hmmmm not sure about this maybe motorola should ask nokia how well the 6810 sold to realize that this might not be a good idea, the OS is good but the design looks weak and floppy, I can for see a lot of problems with this phone when it hits the shops. Keypad issues, damaged screens will be the first problems, but this is just my opinion
