Nor are they leading the flagship market, the others release theirs and then Chinese do something a handful of months later. They do make some lovely looking handsets but have yet to really do anything that amazing.

Almost every Android smartphone manufacturer (HTC, Sony, and LG) are feeling the heat of Chinese smartphone manufacturers. If you look at the prices of Chinese flagship models, they are almost half the price of the flagship models of HTC, Sony and LG with similar specs.
On a International reseller site, I saw a lot of Koreans buying phones from Xiaomi for example.
